Mu Ningtang never expected that after being struck by heavenly lightning, she would one day come back to life.
To make a living, she planned to find a job.
But plans never keep up with changes.
On her third day hauling bricks at a construction site, before she had even received her pay, she was somehow invited to the Bureau of Demon Affairs
And became an ordinary employee with a permanent position.
Life at the bureau was very relaxed. Most days, she just studied regulations, attended classes, and educated little demons.
The only problem was that her next-door neighbor's cat was far too clingy, constantly tugging at her sleeve and refusing to let go.
She'd lived there for half a month without seeing her neighbor once, but had been looking after their cat for more than half a month. Now it was practically her own.
Mu Ningtang stroked the soft fur of the kitten in her arms, feeling rather troubled.

Since taking charge of the Bureau of Demon Affairs, Xie Chi had always considered himself decisive, impartial, and cold-hearted.
That was until he ran into that person outside a construction site.
An indescribable scent emanated from her, like woody sandalwood mixed with mint after the rain, drawing him closer and closer.
By the time he realized what was happening, he had melted into a cat-shaped puddle in her arms.
Xie Chi: ...Just one more sniff. Just one.
So good.
