Tea-like, mischievous comedy queen vs. seemingly proper, scheming ex
[Reconciliation After a Breakup / Silly Sweet Romance]
Jiang Hao and Lu Wenrang didn’t end their relationship on the best of terms. True to the saying, "The first thing you do after reaching the shore is abandon the one you love," she dumped him unilaterally and went around telling everyone that Lu Wenrang was clingy and got in the way of her career.
Money-loving Jiang Hao seized on the online trend and started a "Didi Umbrella" service.
The day she ran into Lu Wenrang again, she smugly claimed she was waiting for her boyfriend. The next second, she answered a customer’s call, and the voice on the other end belonged to the man standing right in front of her.
"Jiang Hao, so I’m your boyfriend after all."
The thing Lu Wenrang regretted most in his life might be not trying to stop Jiang Hao when she asked to break up.
He resented his own arrogance. He’d thought Jiang Hao would stay by his side forever.
When they met again, all he wanted was for her to come back.
At a gathering with friends, Lu Wenrang looked at Jiang Hao and openly confessed, "I want her to take another look at me."
Across from him, Jiang Hao played dumb, pretending she didn’t understand.
When the graduate school announced its selection of exchange students, Jiang Hao’s name was right there on the list.
That night, after getting drunk, the usually restrained and proper Lu Wenrang cornered Jiang Hao against the wall, pressing his body against her slender frame. His warm, tipsy breath brushed her ear. "Jiang Hao, can you take me with you?"
"Why didn’t Lu Wenrang go to Xike University?"
"He didn’t get in."
"But he only ever applied to Nanda."
"Because Jiang Hao is at Nanda."
In the end, their love lasted through every season.
The male and female leads are both flawed characters who grow over time. This is my first time writing a story, so I hope you’ll support me!
Please add my upcoming novel, White Winter, to your reading list!
Lin Qian never dared to look back on the year she turned twenty-three. Every time she remembered it, her heart ached.
Her best friend, who had been like family, passed away, leaving her all alone. Yet it was that very year, when she could barely carry on, that she met the love of her life.
That year, the snow in Dongcheng fell heavily. A woman dragging a suitcase struggled along the road. A black car rounded the corner, sending snowflakes swirling, and stopped steadily in front of her like the grand opening of a show.
The man in the back seat rolled down the window. His cool gaze didn’t even flick toward her. "The roads are slippery in this weather. Allow me to give you a ride, miss."
Someone deliberately made trouble for her at the job she relied on to make ends meet, and the heel of her high heel got stuck in a crack in the pavement.
Unable to bend down in her short skirt, she was helped out of her predicament by a refined hand gently reaching down to free her shoe.
When she naturally lowered her head, her eyes met a pair that felt both familiar and unfamiliar. Her heart skipped wildly.
The man left her with just one sentence: "Be careful next time."
It was their second meeting. He showed such thoughtful tenderness to a woman he’d met only once before.
The third time they met, Qin Rongchuan took the initiative.
He offered marriage as his bargaining chip. People said he was ruthless, that it would be no exaggeration to say he’d cut down even his own family. Still, she agreed without hesitation.
Why did she say yes? She often asked herself that. Maybe she wanted a family too badly.
At a gathering with friends, someone whose name hardly mattered let something slip. Qin Rongchuan, surrounded by people urging him to drink, didn’t hear it, but every word reached Lin Qian loud and clear.
That night, taking advantage of the alcohol, Lin Qian steeled herself and said it.
"How about we cut our losses before it’s too late?"
"What do you mean, cut our losses? Tell me, Lin Qian."
The man grabbed her hand, veins bulging on its back, and pinned her to the bed. The bloodshot look in his eyes was frightening.
"Qianqian, are you saying... you don’t want me anymore?"
Since becoming an adult, Lin Qian had never celebrated a complete New Year.
Half reclining on the sofa in an undignified pose, drunk and barely conscious, she reached her slender hand up to Qin Rongchuan’s neck. Tears kept streaming from the corners of her eyes. "Qin Rongchuan, I don’t have a family. Nobody loves me."
"This year, I’ll take you to buy new clothes and watch the fireworks. I’ll give you New Year’s money, and we’ll have New Year’s Eve dinner together. How does that sound, Qianqian?"
"Lin Qian, I’ll give you a home. I love you."
