He Xing had loved only one person since high school. But after accidentally overhearing the words, "Sorry, I'm straight," he buried that flutter of emotion alone, silently swallowing the bitterness of an unspoken crush.

After graduation, He Xing and Zhuo Yan had no contact for many years.

At a friend's request, He Xing suddenly felt like attending a class reunion. But the gathering first sent his emotions soaring to heaven, then dragged them down to hell:

Zhuo Yan was gay.

Zhuo Yan had a boyfriend.

Seeing the two of them walking away hand in hand, He Xing finally understood. Cupid was truly playing games with him. Perhaps they really were destined to meet, but not to be together.

It wasn't until he saw Zhuo Yan at another class reunion that He Xing suddenly realized something: Zhuo Yan and his boyfriend seemed to have fallen out of love.

On the way to take Zhuo Yan home, He Xing thought silently: Since Cupid's arrow hadn't struck him in the first place, he could just pull it out of himself. If no one else could hold on to an opportunity like this, then he would seize it.

Reader's Guide:

P.S. The love interest has a past, but the protagonist doesn't. This is a story where the love interest changes partners. There has to be another love interest before the new one, after all.

The first 15 chapters are set at school and told from the protagonist's perspective. After Chapter 15, the story moves to the city and is mostly told from the love interest's perspective.

The plot described in the blurb starts in Chapter 16. If you find the school chapters boring, you can skip them without affecting your understanding of what follows.

This is my first time writing a novel, and my skills are limited. Criticism is welcome, but please don't make personal attacks (T^T)

The Li and Chen families dominated the business world in Jin City for years. Then, three years ago, the Chen family moved to Canada with their son to expand overseas, leaving the Li family alone at the top of Jin City's social pyramid.

But no one knew that the heirs of the Li and Chen families had once been together.

Chen Shi returned to the country on Li Luohe's engagement day.

"Luo Luo, congratulations on your engagement."

Reunited with his former lover, Li Luohe didn't lose his composure. He maintained the dignified poise expected of the wealthy.

But before the engagement party was even over, Chen Shi pinned Li Luohe against a bathroom stall and kissed him, earning a hard slap in return:

"Luo Luo, I've missed you so much."

Chen Shi's gaze was besotted, his voice tender.

Not long afterward, Chen Shi brazenly moved into his home. His fiance suddenly disappeared, and Li Luohe didn't need to guess who had been scheming behind the scenes.

He could take no more:

"Chen Shi! It's over between us! Can you stop bothering me?!"

"No. Li Luohe, I never said we were over."

Li Luohe looked at him coldly, speaking each word with deliberate emphasis: "I also told you that if you left, I wouldn't wait for you."

In his twenty-five years, Li Luohe had never waited for anyone.

He had always thought he'd moved on, growing into the person an adult was supposed to be.

But Chen Shi's appearance revealed his true self: he was still stuck at the finish line from three years ago.
