Pei Ci, lead singer and drummer of a band, was a master of the drums.
The number-one dream guy on every girl's list, and the young heir of Beijing's powerful elite.
On the day of A University's anniversary performance,
the band's lead singer leaned in, intending to kiss him.
Pei Ci stood still and didn't dodge.
The girl in front of him thought she'd been given a chance.
Then, the very next second,
Pei Ci pulled the person sneaking a look from the corner over to him.
He kissed her cheek and curled his lips lazily:
"There's a fee for sneaking a peek, Shu Nian."
-
Shu Nian was Pei Ci's girlfriend outside school.
He was a star on campus, and few people knew he had a girlfriend elsewhere.
At a get-together with the club band,
during a game of Truth or Dare, Pei Ci was told to call the person he had a crush on.
He dialed, his voice an unhurried, low chuckle.
"Because I like you."
"What else would it be?"
Everyone else thought it was just an exciting game, but the young master brought his girlfriend to school and made their relationship public.
"Yeah."
"She's my girlfriend. We've been together for a while."
Amid the cheers, Shu Nian looked up at him.
The young man's eyes and brows shone just as brightly as she remembered.
-
After they broke up,
the man's car blocked her way downstairs in the pitch-black night. His voice was hoarse as he said, "I never said we were breaking up."
At the band's debut anniversary event,
the girls in the audience screamed.
The lead singer and drummer, Pei Ci, stood onstage, his eyebrow piercing gleaming, his features handsome and bold.
His voice was hoarse as he spoke to someone in the audience:
"If I chase after you this time, would you still like me?"
The anniversary theme song, "Longing," was a gift from the lead singer to a girl who had been secretly in love with him for many years.
"This time, I want to be the one who comes to you." - Pei Ci
