Ran Nian grew up relying on his older brother, and the two struggled to get by in the slums.

When his brother fell into a coma after an injury, Ran Nian had no choice but to use the birthday present he'd secretly prepared for him: the cheapest gaming headset he could find. He entered the full-dive game World of Wonders, hoping to earn the astronomical cost of treatment.

Before long, however, Ran Nian realized that the game he was playing wasn't quite like everyone else's. It seemed... he could understand what the monsters were saying?

Fat Hen: "The tailor's grandson folded the pattern into a paper airplane. One of the sheets fell into that dead tree by the village entrance. If nobody finds it soon, it'll be soaked through with dew~"

Ran Nian climbed into the dead tree by the village gate that very night and, sure enough, found a pattern that was about to be ruined. After learning it, he made an adorable rabbit-fur hat that became popular with female players, earning himself a hefty sum.

Little Pig: "Three recipes are buried under the big rock beside the waterfall. They say they can make our meat taste even better. It's terrifying for a pig like me QAQ!"

Ran Nian's eyes lit up. He hurried over to look and, sure enough, dug up three recipes. After learning them, he made red-braised pork, rabbit with double peppers, and spicy chicken, making the players drool and cry with envy. He earned another hefty sum.

Some time later, while other players were still fighting tooth and nail over a single green-grade piece of gear and lavishly praising the egg fried rice at the food stalls, Ran Nian had already used all the gossip and interesting tidbits he'd heard from the monsters to get his hands on countless blueprints and make a fortune.

When his brother woke from his coma and heard about his younger brother's adventures in the game, he was shocked. Was this really his sweet, delicate younger brother? Where had this black-sesame-filled little dumpling come from?!

Huo Ronglian was an ancient being discovered alongside the core of World of Wonders. His mental power was unmatched, but fortunately, he had no ill will toward this world. He was easygoing and went with the flow, and even took a part-time job as a "human mainframe."

On his first day at work, he fell in love at first sight with a young man.
