When Ying Dushi woke up, something calling itself a System spoiled the plot for her. Apparently, she was the so-called villainess, a stumbling block on the male lead's path to success in a story all about his rise to power.
Question: Why?
Answer: Because she's too damn powerful.
Ying Dushi: ...Right.
On the Color Continent, colors determine status and form the basis of one's abilities. There are many colors, but red is the one that's missing. Ying Dushi had thought that after being reborn, she was here as an explorer to complete a mission.
A mere game plot isn't going to manipulate her.
But as the story unfolded, she gradually came to understand what her master had meant when he sent her here and said...
"Even if you're not the protagonist, you can still become one."
The morning bell rings for Ying Dushi, who follows Gu Huaigu. Su Li's wind never sleeps, and even with a high pillow, the night brings no rest.
It turns out she is the most brilliant shade of red in all of Color.
This is a story about a rebellious, chuunibyou kid who grows up and becomes more level-headed.
Come give it a read.
[Lots of original worldbuilding]
[Comments and criticism welcome]
Theme: The meaning of growth lies not in the result, but in the journey.
