Unorthodox xianxia, immortal x demon, the top is split into fragments, happy ending
The bottom is a half-breed whom neither cats nor dogs can stand. His dying mother entrusted him to the top, a man of exalted status. The top is a good man, a gentleman. For three hundred years, he kept his body honest, but his feelings gradually changed. Watching the bottom treat him like a father, he inexplicably began to go a little crazy.
There is a heart in the demon realm, commonly known as the Demon Heart, with no known scholarly name. The top, bewitched by the bottom, makes an excellent vessel for it. As fate would have it, the Emperor had just survived a trial of love and gotten involved with a demoness. The demoness and the Demon Heart hit it off, planting the Demon Heart inside the top and waiting for an auspicious day to slay the whole crowd.
The top is a good man, a gentleman. He knows without even having to think about it: this is wrong. He can't do this. This isn't love, it's coercion.
So, on a night when torrential rain poured down over the Celestial Realm, he blew himself up.
What he didn't know was that he wasn't the only one whose feelings had changed.
[I remembered wrong, the top already appears in chapter three orz]
