Monsoon Departure

- School life / mutual salvation / BE [A short story, updated whenever inspiration strikes]

Yu Xia met Tan Jing one afternoon.

She was shoved down the stairs and crashed into Tan Jing.

At the school infirmary, Yu Xia kept apologizing to Tan Jing.

Tan Jing didn't blame her, and smiled. "If anyone bullies you again, come find me, transfer student."

That year, they were in their final year of high school.

-

After the college entrance exam, the two met up to celebrate.

On her way home, Yu Xia received a message from Tan Jing.

[Yu Xia, I hope your future is bright. Be a free bird, never trapped in a cage, and live only for yourself.]

After that message, Yu Xia was never able to get in touch with Tan Jing again.

-

Much later, Yu Xia wrote Tan Jing into a new diary.

Her boy died in that dazzling summer.

Every summer after that was his death anniversary, and hers too.
