[Plot Version]

Zhu Hanling, the eldest daughter of the Zhu family of Flawless Sword Valley, is a genius sword cultivator. Yet she grew up unloved by her adoptive father and mother, her birth father is a mystery, her birth mother is wicked, and while her clanspeople praise her to her face, they look down on her behind her back.

One day, the family head's biological daughter returns, and her birth mother happens to show up as well, ordering her to overthrow the Zhu family. In her awkward position, Zhu Hanling chooses to expose her birth mother. To escape her predicament, she even blows up her Nascent Soul. She narrowly survives, but loses her standing in the family and earns only her clanspeople's suspicions that she's colluding with the enemy.

Can't this young lady just quit being the eldest daughter?

She decides to become a rogue cultivator instead, but that's no easy path. Even staying alive is difficult.

While fleeing for her life, she happens to meet an alchemist who points out that she has dragon meridians and asks if she wants to cultivate a dragon body. Of course she does!

Being a human cultivator isn't all that interesting anyway. She might as well cultivate into a dragon.

Who knew that the path to becoming a dragon would be filled with danger, opportunity, and coincidence?

A demon blade's spirit, desperate to claim her as its master and willing to throw the power of its entire clan behind its attempt, rushes to recognize her.

"Master, I've waited for you for forty thousand years..."

A divine tortoise skilled in divination, who transmigrated here bearing a heavenly mandate, boldly places his entire future in her hands.

"My Lady Little Dragon, I spent twenty years on that island, casting divinations and eagerly waiting for you too."

When she looks back, there's also the human alchemist who has shared life and death with her all along, and who cares more about her becoming a dragon than she does.

"Little Dragon, I've often dreamed of your dragon form since I was young. I exist so I can meet you again."

And her true blood relatives, who have never appeared in her life, yet seem to have left traces of themselves everywhere...

Maybe that's how it is. There are always people willing to brave time and space just to come for her, aren't there?

One day, when she is just one step away from becoming a dragon, the person standing in her way might be the family head's biological daughter, ready to sacrifice her own kin for the greater good, or her birth mother, whose fate is destined to intertwine with hers. Whether they're the original protagonist or the antagonist, even if the entire cultivation world is turned upside down, she will not waver.

In the destiny she chose for herself, she alone is the protagonist.
