Currently undergoing revisions. Former title: The Sea Demon's Heart
The sea demon Celestris needs a substitute, a sacrifice who can take her place as a sea demon and be trapped on Enor Island forever.
So she saves Elia, feeds her, and protects her.
She finds her fresh water, flint, dresses, shoes...
She collects her hair and tears, and puts on her an anklet symbolizing the sacrifice.
All of it is just for the replacement ritual on the night of the full moon.
But Elia doesn't know that.
All Elia knows is that when everyone else abandoned her, the sea demon Celestris rescued her, looked after her, and showed her affection.
So Elia earnestly, firmly, and hopelessly convinces herself that the sea demon likes her.
What are they supposed to do? A human and a fish can never be together.
Elia has been betrayed by her family again and again.
After enduring every hardship life could throw at her, she found affection from the sea demon instead.
Elia may not be very fond of marine animals, but this is the only creature in the world that loves her... What else can she do? She'll make do.
So Elia starts trying to accept the sea demon Celestris.
She prepares a birthday present for Celestris, teaches her things, and tells her stories passed down among humans.
And then... Celestris gets the wrong idea, too.
What are they supposed to do? Can the sacrifice ritual still be canceled?
