Blurb:
When Ning Shi'an and Gu Yuanzhi first met, one was a spirited young heir from a wealthy family, while the other was a cold, brilliant student from a family down on its luck.
After going to great lengths to win him over, Ning Shi'an “fell for someone else” and dumped him just before graduation.
When they met again, their positions had reversed. Reality had worn down the young heir's sharp edges, while the once-impoverished top student had become a rising star in the corporate world.
His ex was now his boss. Ning Shi'an was meek and cautious, doing his best to make himself invisible, afraid he was about to star in a revenge drama. But Gu Yuanzhi...
Took him home after he got drunk.
Made him rice porridge when he was sick.
Gave him the only bed when they were away on a business trip.
Ning Shi'an: He must be doing it wrong.
At last, after he got drunk and forced himself on Gu Yuanzhi, Gu's expression changed.
He chased Ning Shi'an to his home, blocked his way, and demanded with red-rimmed eyes, “Ning Shi'an, are you going to abandon me again?”
Only then did Ning Shi'an realize he wasn't the only one trapped in the past.
A second-chance romance. A short story of around 100,000 characters, fully written and set to wrap up soon.
Please add my upcoming novel, He Has Come to Terms with Being the Moonlight. Blurb:
Ran Chen transmigrates into a book.
He becomes the moonlight of the male lead in a novel with the same title he'd read.
Having read countless novels, he knows that while the role of the moonlight seems glamorous, cherished and indulged by the male lead at first, the substitute always wins in the end, while the moonlight meets a miserable fate after stirring up trouble.
When Ran Chen arrives, the male lead has just realized that he truly loves the substitute, and is distancing himself from the moonlight, who is unhappy and planning to cause trouble.
Looking at the male lead, drugged by him and lying on a hotel bed with a heart-shaped headboard, his face full of disgust, Ran Chen immediately calls the substitute, then thoughtfully closes the door behind him as the bewildered substitute looks on, quietly taking all the credit.
At a bar.
A friend asks what he was thinking. Ran Chen looks toward the dance floor, where people are dancing wildly, and smiles. “Nothing. I just suddenly came to my senses. A man who thinks about one person but can sleep with someone else isn't worth holding on to.”
Thinking of the balance in the bank account he'd looked up, he sighs. “What's a man compared to money? As long as you have enough, even sleeping with Lu Jingheng isn't impossible.”
A suited man in the booth next to them pauses at this, then gives a quiet laugh and murmurs, “Is that so?”
Later, the substitute causes trouble, and the male lead comes to his senses and wants to get back together with Ran Chen. Before Ran Chen can refuse, Lu Jingheng, the low-profile big shot from the novel, corners him in his office.
Lu Jingheng: “Didn't you want to sleep with me?”
Ran Chen: “...I can't afford to.”
Lu Jingheng: “That's fine. I'm rich. I'll pay you.”
Ran Chen: “...”
