The alien species SD1001 was horrified to discover that it had taken over the body of a young human from Earth.
Article One of the Star Abyss Convention states that SD-class super-dangerous species are strictly forbidden from controlling, possessing, or parasitizing the bodies of other life-forms. It had no memory of what happened before bedtime, and the body it had taken over was just as blank, without a single memory.
SD1001, inexplicably guilty of a crime: *screaming* *twisting* *literally splitting apart* *crawling*
The amnesiac Rando, who witnessed the whole time 1001 went berserk: An absolutely spectacular SAN check.
When Rando came to, he was lying in the ruins of a building after an explosion, his right hand gripping a child's wrist bone.
He had lost most of his memories. His faint survival instincts told him to get away from the scene as soon as possible, and he decided to take the child beside him along.
The next second, he saw the kid's body split apart all over the ground, screaming as it crawled around in the shadows.
That first encounter cost Rando a terrifying amount of SAN. For years afterward, he would finish work at the PM during the day, then sit the little monster he had adopted on a stool at night and patiently teach it:
1. When you oversleep, you can't leave your head in bed and send your body to school by itself.
2. When pretending not to hear the boss, you don't need to take your ears off.
3. You can't remove parts of your body and give them to the rival next door for research.
4. Humans eat with their mouths, not their necks, palms, or belly buttons, and they don't shove food straight into their stomachs.
5. Don't believe the nonsense of some wild curse by the roadside telling you that you're a cursed spirit.
Humans aren't detachable. Get that through your head already!
Many years later, Verlaine would always remember that afternoon when he set foot on an island nation in East Asia to find his younger brothers.
Verlaine: Matsu, Chuuya, only we are the same kind!
Protagonist: How did you figure out I'm not human?! (screams in terror) (crawls creepily) (limbs fall apart on the spot)
Verlaine: ...
tips:
1. Lovecraftian protagonist, light comedy, and as for the true form, let me make it up as I go.
2. The protagonist's human name is Kikkawa Matsu. He's not much of a fighter, but he's incredibly vital.
3. There are romantic hints, but it's hard to say what the pairing will be. After all, the protagonist is a nonhuman alien god, so he might still be single by the ending. Also, there are no secondary couples in the story.
4. It's not exactly a fix-it, but nobody except the villains actually dies in this book.
5. Human society is hard to understand, so the protagonist may seem a bit dim at times.
Theme: A good life is something you have to work for yourself.
