The day Gong Jiu was born, she met the little Yu Li, who was standing beside her crib.
But little Gong Jiu was never very keen on spending time with her childhood friend. Yu Li had no temper at all. Even when Gong Jiu bullied her, she never told her family. She was weak to the extreme.
Compared with brilliant Gong Jiu, Yu Li really was rather stupid. She was bad at sports, school, and every kind of talent, with nothing going for her except a beautiful face and a gaze that always rested on Gong Jiu with affection.
When their friends teased them that they acted like a couple, Gong Jiu immediately denied it. "She's the one who keeps coming after me. Who would like someone that stupid?"
Then she turned around. A pair of tear-filled eyes trembled, wounded in a way that tugged at the heart. Gong Jiu only smiled cruelly.
Yu Li hid the feelings she had never managed to confess behind her back, and then disappeared completely from Gong Jiu's world.
A year later, Gong Jiu met a strikingly beautiful, cool woman in a foreign country. The woman chatted and laughed with all sorts of people who approached her, but the look she turned on Gong Jiu was cold and indifferent, unlike anything she had ever shown her before. Gong Jiu was lost and bewildered, not daring to approach.
Yu Li had spoiled Gong Jiu. She never understood how precious that affection was until she lost it.
But it seemed she had also lost the Yu Li who used to tremble as she breathed and secretly kiss her while she pretended to sleep.
Little Scene:
Back then, when Yu Li touched her head:
Gong Jiu: I'm a germaphobe. I don't like unrelated people touching me.
Later, when Yu Li touched her again:
