How Can One Heart Be Moved a Thousand Ways?

Reunion After a Long Separation | Mutual Secret Crushes

1.

During the summer vacation of her sophomore year, Xu Shiying went on a trip with her friends.

In Xishuangbanna, she met a handsome young photographer.

The summer breeze lifted her silky hair. Cheng Ji looked up from behind his camera and smiled lazily. "You look beautiful when you smile."

The dusky sunlight fell across his refined features. Xu Shiying pressed her palm and felt her heart skip a beat.

Seven days flew by. With mixed feelings, Xu Shiying pulled her suitcase onto the plane home.

2.

Later, at her graduation ceremony, Xu Shiying wore her cap and gown and posed for a group photo with her roommates.

The sudden click of a camera shutter sounded behind her. She turned toward it and saw a tall figure at the end of the red carpet, long fingers curled around a DSLR.

When he saw her looking, the man lowered his camera, revealing a face that was both familiar and strange.

Cheng Ji's lips still held a gentle smile. "Xu Shiying, it's been a long time."

3.

Only later did Xu Shiying learn that after she had boarded her flight home from Xishuangbanna that year, Cheng Ji had stood alone at Gasa Airport, looking forlorn as he gazed toward the horizon beneath the setting sun.

She hadn't been the only one whose heart had stirred during that brief encounter.
