All three calamities struck at once. Weakened by the Final Cycle, the Star Alliance was powerless to resist. It could only launch the Prometheus Project, hoping to preserve the seeds of civilization until the day a new civilization rose in this universe, drove back the calamities, and reclaimed everything.
To safeguard that future, the Star Alliance's scientists decided to add one more layer of insurance.
They brought the Fourth Calamity into this universe.
