[Closed off to love X Regretting it too late]
Also known as Reborn, and All My Favorite Ships Have Sunk
[The unserious blurb]
As the young lord of Tianshu City, the foremost city of the immortal sects, Lu Xiyu has ordinary talent. Her only hobby in life is watching handsome young men and beautiful young women pair up, otherwise known as shipping couples. After a sudden upheaval, Lu Xiyu died a worthy death. She silently spent eighty-one years mending her soul, and at last came back to life.
The good news: the junior fellow disciple who had coldly refused to help her back then has built a nine-story treasure tower and lets her pick any spiritual artifacts and treasures she wants as compensation. The bad news: all the couples she shipped back then have broken up.
Lu Xiyu tearfully picks out treasures, while her junior fellow disciple follows behind her and says, “Senior Sister, why don’t you take a look at me?”
[Little scene]
Lu Xiyu has always enjoyed playing matchmaker in her head. Many years later, she comes across a storybook in the marketplace based on her and Jiang Lie. It begins:
“I have heard that Lady Lu and Young Lord Jiang studied beneath the same eaves. First, they regretted having spent so little time together in their youth; second, they regretted that lovers had not grown old together; third, they regretted that the beauty’s soul had perished, and the young lord’s deep devotion...”
Lu Xiyu’s teeth ache from how sickly sweet it is. She is about to close the book when someone stops her. It is none other than Young Lord Jiang from the story. He says, “Why don’t we take a look together?”
After turning through the whole book, the two stare intently at the final line of poetry:
“Back from a great dream beneath Zhong Mountain’s trees, he spent his whole life bowing his head to Lu Xiyu.”
Jiang Lie comments, “It’s not entirely inaccurate.”
Lu Xiyu: “...”
