[A goofy player boldly explores another world. A slice-of-life story for a change of pace, with no angst and no detailed case-solving.]
"I found this!" Wearing a luxurious evening gown, Luriel clutches a bloodstained raincoat. "It's mine now! I'm going to turn it into a shower curtain!"
Detective Conan is the latest open-world game developed by the Interastral Peace Corporation. Pioneeringly incorporating related technology from Ms. Herta's Simulated Universe, the game features beautifully crafted characters and an incredible degree of freedom. Even plenty of researchers on the space station play it.
Luriel is one of them.
She's not interested in following the main storyline, getting involved in some big battle, or solving everyday mysteries, whether they're brainteasers or a breeze. But this game lets you gather materials and build houses with an incredible degree of freedom!
She can only live in a dorm on the space station, but in the game she has a spacious 300-square-meter plot all to herself! As long as she can gather enough blueprints and materials, she can do whatever she wants!
How perfect!
So... why does this NPC police officer in the game think he can steal my free waterproof fabric?!
I dug it out of the wilderness with my own two hands!
Luriel watches as the material she picked out for a shower curtain gets sealed in an evidence bag. Overcome with grief, she drops to her knees to mourn the perfectly shaped raincoat.
"I'm very sorry." The police officer looks flustered. He awkwardly straightens his hat and salutes. "But thank you for cooperating."
[Ding! City reputation +3]
Reputation points? Luriel happily slaps her thigh, springs to her feet, grabs the young officer in front of her, and vigorously shakes his hand.
"I've got more stuff like this at home. Would you like to come take a look?"
She visits the trash cans, wilderness, and haunted houses where murders have taken place every day to clean them up. She's found plenty of things like this. But furniture blueprints awarded for reaching reputation milestones are rare loot.

No plans to start writing this in the near future. I'll wait until Honkai: Star Rail reveals more about the Herta Space Station, the Genius Society, the Genius Society, and the Xianzhou, to avoid getting blindsided by the story.
