Feng Ya is the village shaman of Yatang Village. While trying to lead the village out of poverty and bring prosperity to their remote mountain home, she unexpectedly runs into Huo Zhou, who once stayed at her house and whom she turned into a duck.
(The body-swap story somehow turned into a duck-transformation story! (`●__●ˊ)/)
Times change. The young master Huo, who once stirred up chaos among the ducks, has grown into a domineering CEO, while she has gone from owning a duck pond to working as a cleaner at his company...
Fortunately, all she wants is to quietly sweep the floors.
One day, distracted by her thoughts, Feng Ya accidentally bumps into him. The lofty Mr. Huo looks down at her. "Are you practicing how to fly by riding a broom?"
Hah! She knew that even after growing up, he would still be... so obnoxious! Petty and vindictive!
Feng Ya ignores him, happily sweeping and studying at the same time.
Feng Ya gradually finds her feet, picking up all kinds of skills and tricks. While chatting online, she discovers the magic of reaction images and makes her own using her ducks as models. In the company's small group chat, she and her coworkers discuss and complain about Huo Zhou. Reaction images of ducks like Speechless Duck and Annoyed Duck become popular with the employees and sweep through the company.
With the employees' help, she finds a way to revive her hometown through livestreaming.
Feng Ya remembers her grandmother Feng Qing's warning not to reveal that she is a shaman when away from home. Then she has a sudden idea: she uses her handmade duck reaction images to disguise her fortune-telling. Her predictions prove accurate, and the employees she has helped so much love them. Before long, she even goes viral online!
Prayer Duck, Blessing Duck, Peach Blossom Duck, and others quickly become popular. People follow the trend and repost them to make wishes, rivaling the wishing craze around the koi fish of years past. Huo Zhou stares at Peach Blossom Duck on the screen. The more he looks, the more familiar it seems, and the darker his expression grows!
