Dr. Chen, the Child Is Awake [The 1970S]

In her previous life, Chen Yun was a leading expert who had published several research papers on newborns. One day, she transmigrated and became a doctor at the Red Sun Steel Plant Workers' Clinic. The factory was tucked away in a mountain valley and had more than twenty thousand employees and family members. The only person at the hospital responsible for the health of all those people who had actually graduated from a proper medical school... was her, and she was only half-qualified. Some staff had trained as barefoot doctors. Others had been recommended to medical school by workers and peasants and graduated in a daze. There was even a former army medic who had only learned to bandage gunshot wounds. During her first night shift, a baby who had suffocated during a difficult delivery was brought to the hospital. The family wept in despair. Chen Yun alone refused to give up. When the baby's loud cries rang out across the delivery room, the name of Dr. Chen from the factory hospital began to spread throughout the Red Sun Machinery Factory. Gao Ming, captain of the Red Sun Machinery Factory's transport team, was a highly sought-after match in the eyes of all the matchmakers. He was handsome, and at a young age had already become a team captain. His parents were both proper city workers, too. One matchmaker after another had failed, until at last they realized Gao Ming had long ago taken a liking to Chen Yun, the doctor at the clinic whose voice could carry through several walls. They were a couple with one gentle and one tough, and their life together was wonderfully lively... Reading Guide: The heroine is strong, and so is the hero.
