This is a story whose ending you and I already know, even though it has not yet happened.
“I can't tell him that, at one point, I was deeply infatuated with him.”
“I can't say it.”
Regula Black's years at Hogwarts could be called the model of a model student. In Walburga's eyes, she had been “a perfect Black” from the moment she was born.
If no one had opened her diary, perhaps everyone would have thought so.
This is a story about the Death Eaters, and a coming-of-age diary kept by a girl from one of the Pure-blood families. There are tears and regrets, and perhaps the fluttering feelings of young love.
[Please read the following guide in full before deciding whether to start reading]
Told in the first person and based on the original work, the heroine is Regulus gender-swapped and is essentially no different from an original female protagonist. The story began with the idea of writing a parallel world where Regulus was a girl, so the storylines between characters from the Marauders' generation have been polished, but the ending is the same as in the original.
At least now, having read this far, you already know that she will still meet her death.
The pairing is James Potter. You can read it as a JPRB ship, or as a story about an original female protagonist. The relationship between James and Regula is the backdrop to Regula's fate, not the main plot. The heroine and the second male lead have an arranged engagement and share plenty of scenes, but theirs is not a typical romance. Please take note if that bothers you.
Regula is not a good person in the conventional sense. She is calculating, selfish, and willing to do anything. She can be cowardly and evasive, and she looks out for her own interests. She only cares about the people who matter to her. This story is entirely my interpretation of the original Regulus. The author is just someone telling a story, and readers are here to read it, so please don't put Regula on trial. She is also a brave girl.
[She is not a strong female lead, nor a heroine who dominates the story] [People are contradictory; the heroine is not a one-dimensional character]
The heroine does not live for JP alone. This story focuses much more on the Blakes' tangled family love and hate, and the heroine's personal growth, than on romance. The leads never truly get together. Perhaps all you can call it is the first stirrings of young love. The ending is still James and Lily, but their relationship will not receive much focus, so rest assured.
The author has an extremely peculiar obsession with research. Almost every piece of magical knowledge and every book title that appears in the story is based on something real. Due to a busy life and psychological pressure, I cannot update regularly, but I can promise I won't abandon the story. I feel that my writing style is quite restrained, focusing more on inner thoughts and details than on the external setting. Please consider carefully whether you'd like to start reading.
This is not a conventional sweet romance. Readers who prefer fast-paced stories may find it hard to enjoy. This story is best read with a quiet mind. Any detail you notice might be a clue Regula failed to pick up on because of the limitations of the first-person perspective. Bold theories and speculation are welcome.
A character's values are not the same as the author's. The first-person perspective is strongly limited and biased. Everything is the heroine's attitude and view of the world. I love every character in J.K. Rowling's magical world, and I'm grateful to her for creating such an enormous universe.
I'm very much a solitary writer. Throughout my fanfiction writing, I've always posted my work and then logged off, but I'm especially grateful to everyone who has left a comment, and to the readers who quietly follow and support the story.
I do not own anything except original characters and plots. Everything belongs to J.K. Rowling.

I read it for the second time today, and the writing is so detailed. At first, I shed tears because of Layla and James' short-term love. But I feel more relieved when I see this. Two people who can't be together no matter what, James can't understand Layla's choice, and Layla can't be calm in front of James. Express yourself, it's okay if you feel throbbing 😭 😭 😭 I haven't expressed my thoughts in words like this for a long time, but I really want to say that the writing is very good, I like it very much, I posted a lot of comments during the second brushing process, please forgive me if there is anything I don't understand [spread flowers]
[Current update progress]: 70%/100% [Estimated update frequency]: Guaranteed to update at least once a week, more updates will be made when there is time; update once every two weeks during busy times. [Estimated completion time]: Summer 2026. The current goal is to complete it. There may be problems such as awkward sentences, typos, and insufficient wording to my satisfaction in the text. I don't have time to revise it for the time being. I will refine it chapter by chapter after completion. In the next year, I need to prepare for an exam related to my career. Especially in the past two months, there is another exam that needs to be prepared. The working days are almost all day long, and the weekends are also filled with a lot of plans. But fortunately, I reorganized the outline a while ago, and the following plot is basically smooth (including the ending), and there is only enough time to finish writing. Thank you all for your patience. I really need feedback from my friends, whether it's good or negative. Whether it's the reason for generating electricity for love or the ability to fine-tune the plot of the following chapters based on the comments, I'm very much looking forward to everyone's feedback after reading it, as long as the tone is friendly, so if you like it after reading it, please leave comments and recommendations. I really want to communicate with you about the plot, but the comments every day are empty TT, so if any of the plot touches you, you can speak up. I want to know if Layla has left anything in everyone's heart. That's pretty much what I want to say. I have always felt that in the world of words, it is a very happy thing if what I want to say and express is seriously seen by others. Thank you everyone for your company and reading.
My only wish is that Sirius will know Reyna's story and her courage later 😭
I've been too busy these days and the babies really don't have time to code... Please take a short break and wait until I finish the exam in May before updating >_<
I feel that Regulus yearned for pure-blood supremacy when he first followed Voldemort, so he thought that if he wanted Black to be good, he had to go in the direction of Voldemort. (But I'm not sure if my impression of Lei Gu has been affected by other fanfics.) But now I feel that Layla does have a sense of responsibility, but she does not have such a strong sense of belief and control over the entire family. Why is there such a gap (?) Is it because Layla is more sensitive than Regulus, or does she not have the natural desire to control (not protect) the entire family?
I'm a little tired this week, babies. I'll see if I can finish writing a new chapter on Sunday. If I can finish it, I'll update it this week. If I can't finish it, I'll post it next week. I'll try my best to make sure I can update it twice a week. The next plot will be quite heavy. I also need to adjust my mood and state. If you have any thoughts related to this article, please post them in the comment area. I really need motivation and support 🤗
After reading the chapter about the wife, I really feel that Nott and Reina are also in trouble [Purple Sugar] kswl
Please take a short vacation and I will probably update by the end of the month. There are a lot of things during the final week. Please forgive me.
This is really a very good article. It has been a long time since I burst into tears for a story. Layla, will you be happy?
The writing is very, very good... Xiaolei and I cried several times while reading it. Did I also read the page of the diary where Leila's tears fell 😭
