A secretly tsundere Senju, full of schemes, whose old flame is rekindled

Uchiha Kanon died by accident at the Valley of the End when her eldest brother betrayed the village and left. She thought she'd go to hell and meet her two brothers, but somehow her ghost lingered.

So Kanon decided to use this opportunity to get revenge on the culprit responsible for it all: Senju Tobirama. (Mostly because the second Senju brother was the only one who could see her.)

Taking advantage of being a spirit, Uchiha Kanon followed the second Senju brother around all day. When he drank water, she poured in salt. When he did experiments, she wrecked them. When he went to the bathroom, she stole the toilet paper. When he went to war, she set off explosive tags... Her whole approach was to haunt him relentlessly.

Eventually, the second Senju brother got used to Uchiha Kanon's presence. To get the little tyrant to calm down and stop pestering him, Tobirama agreed to do a few "small things" for her in exchange for some peace and quiet. These included, but were not limited to, attending Kanon's funeral, carrying her corpse back from outside the village, visiting her grave, speaking up for her, getting up in the middle of the night to make her a snack, and burning a few sets of new clothes for her at festivals... In the end, Tobirama was already taking care of her messes without Kanon even having to ask.

Given Tobirama's various acts of "remembrance" and protectiveness toward Uchiha Kanon, a rumor gradually took hold in Konoha: Senju Tobirama had secretly loved the Uchiha clan leader's younger sister for years, but because their families were sworn enemies, he had been forced to keep his feelings to himself.

Although it was only a rumor, Tobirama's older brother, Senju Hashirama, believed it completely.

Senju Tobirama: ...Thank you, dear brother. Now there's no way I can deny it!

Later, with his wonderful older brother leading the way (and misleading everyone), more and more people in Konoha heard the rumor that Tobirama was secretly in love. They dug up all sorts of "details," and the story spread as if it were true... Eventually, even Uchiha Kanon herself started to think that the second Senju brother might actually have feelings for her.

After all... For the past few years, the second Senju brother had practically granted her every request. What normal person would be so nice to their "mortal enemy"?

The emotionally driven Uchiha thought:

Unless... it was because of love!

After twenty years, the second Senju brother's heart had finally blossomed. He had to be in love with her.

She thought it over carefully. She had been prejudiced against him before, but after spending the last few years together, she had to admit that the second Senju brother was a pretty decent guy. It wasn't... impossible, was it?

So Kanon waited for Tobirama to confess his feelings, and started treating him much better.

Until one day, she happened to discover that the important research project the second Senju brother had been diligently working on was called "Dead Demon Consuming Seal," and its effect was... sealing souls.

It was obvious who it was meant for.

Senju Tobirama: I've actually been putting up with you for a long time.

Uchiha Kanon: What is that supposed to mean?!

And so the flower that bloomed once every twenty years slowly closed again.

Uchiha Kanon (flipping the table): You bastard!

One of life's three great delusions. How did she end up falling for one?!

She swore that if she ever got ideas about the second Senju brother again, she would stop being an Uchiha!

And so her spirit followed Senju Tobirama, cursing him out the whole way, and cursed alongside him as he said farewell to many old friends... Before she knew it, she was still cursing him as she watched Konoha grow more and more prosperous...

When the next generation arrived, full of life and promise, Kanon's spirit grew weaker and weaker. She felt that the obsession keeping her in this world was nearly ready to let go.

So one day, she casually said to Senju Tobirama, who was working on an experiment:

"Second Senju brother, I might be leaving soon..."

Tobirama's hands paused. Then he replied without expression, "Oh..."

Tch. Just as expected. What a cold-blooded man.

Kanon grumbled to herself.

Still, she definitely wasn't disappointed... Not at all...

But a few days later, Kanon discovered that the important research project the second Senju brother was working on had changed... It was now "Impure World Reincarnation"...

The technique seemed to be meant to bring departed souls back.
