Eighteen or nineteen, the age of dreams.
At a prestigious university, Ni Man finally had a chance to climb the ladder and glimpse the snow-capped peak from afar.
When a famous alumnus attended the anniversary celebration, she served as a hostess and led him to his seat, committing his name to memory: Fu Sishi.
Ni Man's dream began there, and continued until she sat in that Phantom with its matching license plate and touched the face beside her pillow.
She fell into a dream wide awake.
Later, a ring that didn't belong to her shattered her dream.
She said goodbye. Fireworks lit Fu Sishi's profile in the dark as he said calmly, "I feel I've treated you well. You could even say I've spoiled you."
Ni Man almost demanded an answer. "Spoiling someone and loving them are worlds apart. I want the latter. Can you give me that, Mr. Fu?"
And so they parted, walking in opposite directions.

Fu Sishi thought the girl was stubborn, and a little childish.
If he liked her, he could spoil her. Why waste time arguing over the difference between spoiling someone and loving them?
Only when they met again did he realize she wasn't a fledgling. She was an eagle.
She was capable of loving anyone. The one she didn't choose was him.
By the time he understood, he was finally panicking.

Unwilling to fall into the abyss again, Ni Man pretended to be a couple with a friend, putting on a show for Fu Sishi.
In the blink of an eye, her friend was gone, and Fu Sishi was sitting in the passenger seat.
Ni Man snapped, "Haven't you heard that you shouldn't go back to an ex?"
"I don't have rules."
Ni Man replied coldly, "Then do you have any decency? Haven't you heard you shouldn't interfere in other people's relationships?"
"I don't care about decency."
Ni Man was about to speak again, but he silenced her with a kiss.
A moment later, Fu Sishi nuzzled against her shoulder.
"I'm not completely stupid, though. I've spent some time teaching myself about love."
"You can test me."
