Funnian was a demon king who wrought chaos in the mortal world. By a twist of fate, she met the beloved young Imperial Uncle of the ancient kingdom of Gu Zhao and fell in love with him at first sight.

The affection and desire he had shown were all a false front. His real goal was to deceive her, secretly ally with the National Preceptor's residence, and pave the way for his escape from the demon realm. He had never given up on getting away.
He succeeded. For the first time in her life, Funnian had been played and betrayed by the person she loved. If she couldn't have him, she would destroy him. She wanted to kill Yuan Chenyi, but before she could, she was ambushed. She lost all her cultivation, was cast down into the mortal world, and lost her memories, becoming a weak little demon.
Badly wounded, she wandered the mortal world without a name or any idea where to go. One day, she met a young Taoist priest. He rescued her and gave her the name Danxia.
Gradually, she realized that the young Taoist seemed to like her. Her memories and powers also began to return.
Later, she met Yuan Chenyi again, as well as Mei Jun, and Zuo Jingyuan, who had once ambushed her.
