I’m Nian Gengyao, and I Won Over Three Emperors with Flattery

Nian Gengyao: I'm no good at leading troops into battle, but I'm the best at sucking up. Kangxi: Young Nian is quite the fellow. A rare talent, loyal and honest, a pillar of the nation. And he's so filial, truly devoted to his parents. Nothing like my own troublesome sons. Sigh! Yongzheng: Liang Gong is my most trusted confidant, the most loyal of my loyalists. He stood by me unwaveringly through my grueling struggle for the throne. Liang Gong is excellent in every way, except for two things that trouble me. First, he's terrified of the shrew at home. Second, he's rather jealous. One year, I casually praised Tian Wenjing a couple of times, and he worried himself sick. When I asked what was wrong, he said, "Your Majesty's favorite minister isn't me anymore. I don't see the point of living." Yongzheng: !!!!! Sometimes a minister can be a little too clingy, and it's a real headache. Qianlong: My father left me a regent, but he ran off after less than two years on the job. No matter, I've still got his son! New story coming soon. Please add it to your collection: "A Consort's Life, Starting with Humiliation on Her Knees" The first time Wu Zhenzhen is summoned to the emperor's bedchamber after becoming a consort, he humiliates her mercilessly, making her kneel by the bed in nothing but thin clothes for the entire night... After that night, Wu Zhenzhen understands two things. First, the emperor is a complete lunatic. Second, this lunatic hates her. This is a story about trying to win the emperor's heart in order to rise to the position of Empress Dowager. The heroine knows when to bend and when to stand firm. She's no aloof, selfless saint. At first, she throws herself at him with enthusiasm. Later: I've got a son to back me up. The bastard can do whatever he wants. The hero has a "white moonlight" in his heart at first, but he can't resist how good she is at flirting. Keep it up long enough, and he changes his mind. [Pah!] Theme: Strive relentlessly.
