The Little Mermaid Offered to the Gods (Women-Ruled World)

Shi Wu is the last god in the world. She protects humankind, yet also possesses the power to destroy it. Legend has it that when malice overwhelms the human world, Shi Wu will fall, and heaven and earth will be remade.

Now that evil has taken hold, the powerful seek to preserve their own prosperity. To that end, they have found the purest and most beautiful thing in the world to offer as a sacrifice: a mermaid.

The little mermaid cannot speak. His silver tail is smeared with blood, and he lies dying at the bottom of the pool. Anyone can see he won't live much longer.

That was when Shi Wu heard his faint thoughts.

The divine are compassionate, and grant every wish.

At first, the little mermaid was grateful even for simple food. He would cry his heart out, string his little pearls together, and carefully arrange them on Shi Wu's altar.

Gradually, he began to want more and more. He wanted human legs, a name, and... to meet her.

But Shi Wu had no need for his little pearls. The little mermaid thought it over, blushed, and embraced Shi Wu as she appeared to grant his wish.

After all, he had always belonged to her.
