I am the king.
My dynasty is full of transmigrators.
They use me, deceive me, make a fool of me, and perform their ridiculous little tricks right under my nose. They do everything they can to squeeze everything out of me, then take my place.
I decide to play along.
I die because of their schemes, the poisoned wine they bring me, and the hidden arrows they shoot.
I fall beneath the sword, my blood flowing to their feet, their faces reflected in my empty eyes.
I don't know why they grieve. They have everything they wanted.
Every transmigrator knows their goal is the crown.
But only after claiming it do they realize how terribly wrong they were.
They search everywhere for miraculous medicines, recruit the talented and the extraordinary, seek out doctors and sages, and hunt for gods and immortals.
No one can bring the dead back to life or restore flesh to bones.
The one they most wanted is already dead, gone on that cold night.
An episodic story, with a different "king" in each arc, mainly historical male-male romance.
Pure tragic romance, full of melodrama and angst, written for catharsis: "After I die, they all regret it."
There may be a companion story: "What should I do when everyone refuses to let me die after I'm reborn?"
Theme: Don't betray a sincere heart.
