I Solve Cases with Narrator Hints

(A cool-headed, career-minded, slow-to-warm, oblivious Assistant Minister of the Court of Judicial Review x a seemingly frail and aloof prince who is actually scheming and devoted)

Wen Tianyue is in a car accident and wakes up in the body of a namesake who was poisoned to death, an Assistant Minister of the Court of Judicial Review. Forced to uncover the truth behind the original owner's murder, she takes over the job as well. Fortunately, the helpful narration that followed her around has come along too.

An old woman accuses a junior official of being unfilial. The official is about to lose his position and be punished.

[Take a good look. This woman favors her eldest son and uses her younger son's salary to support the eldest son's family. Now she's taken a hundred taels from someone to get her younger son fired. She suspects her younger son has offended someone, but she doesn't care.]

Wen Tianyue: "Taking money to falsely accuse an official of this dynasty? The penalty for false accusation will be applied to the accuser."

Terrified and stunned, the old woman eventually breaks down and tells the truth after Wen Tianyue reveals one detail after another.

A bodyguard escorting a shipment has been robbed and seriously injured. He looks like the victim.

[Take a good look. This man once took fifty taels of gold from bandits and gave them the route of the shipment. He's hidden the gold in his cellar and is in a hurry to go home and sleep with it.]

Wen Tianyue: "Did the bandits who gave you fifty taels of gold take part in this robbery?"

Shocked and frightened, the bodyguard eventually confesses the truth.

The romance:

Yan Chengjie was disliked by the late emperor even before he was born. He is frail and sickly, and his eyesight was damaged by poison, making him a prince the officials can afford to neglect. To survive alongside his mother and escape the northern frontier, he willingly became a blade in the new emperor's hand, pretending every day that they are brothers who love each other.

A blade must be prepared to be discarded at any moment. But when it comes to that Assistant Minister, he can't accept it. He feels wronged and resentful. Talented, righteous, and adorable Wen Shaoqing deserves the happiest ending.

To stay alive, Yan Chengjie can give up his dignity. To win the affection of the one he loves, he dares to act frail, preening like a peacock showing off its feathers, and even use his charms, but... Wen Shaoqing, you're as dense as a log!
