Chris was shelved after the reboot because he wasn't popular enough. After drifting through the multiverse for a very, very long time, he finally found a universe willing to accept him. To stay here, Chris has to make himself more visible in other universes and build up his "Popularity Points." So the socially anxious son of a supervillain makes his grand debut!

A Kryptonian spacecraft once again landed on a farm in Kansas. The sixty-something Son of Krypton opened the ship's door. There were no traps or weapons inside, only a seven- or eight-year-old boy speaking Kryptonian. As if history were repeating itself, he adopted him.
"Where are the adoption papers? I imagine B has already taken care of everything."
"Who's B?" (in Kryptonian)
"Someone you can't meet until you're sixteen." The man joked, taking the boy's hand. "Chris, welcome to Earth."
-Many years later
Terry watched the newly debuted hero return from the Middle East yet again and couldn't help raising an eyebrow. "I thought I was your partner. Or is your former-villain bloodline actually made by the same people?"
"Come on, Terry." The second Man of Steel punched a bizarre alien creature into the ground. "D and you are the ones who are actually brothers by blood. If you weren't inviting him home for Christmas, I wouldn't be running off to the desert every day."
"Don't say his name."
"You don't have to imitate your predecessor about that, too."
"He's right. You'll never measure up to Father." The voice of the Head of the Demon appeared suddenly in their earpieces. "You foolish McGinnis. If you can't even recognize the true enemy, take off the suit."
Terry sighed, not bothering to argue with the uninvited guest. "I suppose I should say, it's been a pleasure working with you."
Once, when Chris transmigrated to the main universe, he witnessed the Batfamily's "Battle for the Cape." After learning he was from a parallel future timeline, they asked him a question that cut straight to the heart of the matter.
"If you don't mind, could you tell me who your partner is?"
Barbara asked Chris, who was drinking coffee, while pretending not to notice the dozens of listening devices around them.
"Are you asking who inherited the cape?" Chris said. "I actually spend more time with D, Damian, that is."
Chris continued nonchalantly, despite hearing the faint sound of a cup breaking somewhere.
"But my Batman is Terry. He's the one who truly inherited Mr. Bruce's will."
"What? Surprised?"
Dick: I wasn't exactly eager to inherit it, but who the hell is Terry?
Jason: The old man picked up another kid?
Tim: Bruce really is alive. I knew I was right.
Damian: I'll have to find a way to kill him.
Notes
1. Chris briefly appeared on Earth-16 in N52 after the reboot and teamed up with Damian as the second Super-Bat. He is Zod's son, was born in the Phantom Zone, and is the physical incarnation of the Nightwing God in Kryptonian mythology.
2. The main universe is a future version of B's timeline. The comics from V1 to V6 are the main reference, with some adaptations for plausibility.
3. This fic is for an obscure character. Depending on the world and timeline, there may be no pairing or canon pairings.

Looking at it all the way, the regret has always been there, but it has appeared in front of me in a different way. Although I didn't shed tears, I felt like my heart was weeping silently. What's more sad than Wenli's knife is that it tied QAQ. Two Kryptonians will definitely win if they play Three Palaces!! Xiao Qiao and Chris don't understand each other but they choose to accept it, hahahahahaha
