Researcher? No, I'm a Mom.

Jiang Luya, a senior researcher, joined an expedition to Antarctica to excavate strange creatures trapped beneath the ice.

It was the first time anyone had faced anything like this, and no one knew what to do. Then Jiang Luya met the creature's eyes.

A monster, neither human nor beast, crawled out from the ice. Its curled tentacles carefully wound around her leg as it called her name in a soft voice.

Luya... Mommy...

Because of the creature's unusual nature, no one was allowed near it. Jiang Luya was appointed its sole caretaker.

Gradually, she realized the strange creature seemed inexplicably attached to her. Its tentacles couldn't help wrapping around her waist and rubbing against her, and it fiercely rejected any creature that came close to her.

She named it Jialisi.

Following Jialisi's trail, they discovered even more strange creatures.

Mermaids from ancient legends, a giant half-human, half-beast spider, a great serpent hibernating underground...

The research institute was nearly beside itself over these momentous discoveries. But soon, everyone noticed something strange.

Almost every creature they found felt an indescribable dependence on Jiang Luya, along with a possessive desire for her.

In different voices, they all called her Mommy, obsessively asking whether Mommy loved them and trying in different ways to stay by her side.

They would secretly fight each other, then act perfectly harmless whenever Jiang Luya was around, afraid of frightening her.

Until one day, Jiang Luya discovered what was going on. All the monsters decided to stop pretending and reveal their hideous true forms.

But when Jiang Luya stroked their heads and said gently, "Good girls. Only children who behave can stay by my side," they couldn't help sitting obediently, cherishing her tenderness.
