The Puppet Emperor and His Lucky Empress

Blurb:

Character dynamic: A calculating puppet emperor x a kind, clever little lucky star

Why does it sound like something strange is starting?

"Hello. The Wise Ruler System is at your service."

The cold, emotionless machine voice brought a flood of memories rushing into her mind.

Her name was Qi Chu, and she was the current emperor of the Qi Kingdom.

But she had no real power at all. The court was controlled by the regent, and the harem by the empress dowager. She was nothing but a puppet!

"Quest One issued: Find the lucky star within three days."

She had no time to come to terms with this strange world before the Wise Ruler System came online again.

"A lucky star?"

Qi Chu suddenly felt a little more confident.

"That's right. And you must make the lucky star your empress," the Wise Ruler System added.

"Huh?"

As soon as Qi Chu voiced her confusion, the Wise Ruler System immediately showed her a hundred ways she would die if she chose someone else as her empress.

Qi Chu was so frightened that her little face turned deathly pale, and she agreed in a panic.

She had thought finding the lucky star would be a difficult task. To her surprise, the first time she left the palace, she met the lucky star by the river, washing clothes. Her name was Lin Xing, and she was only sixteen!

After meeting Lin Xing, Qi Chu's luck began to soar.

The regent tried to assassinate her?

The dart he threw spun around and pierced the assassin's heart.

She sneaked a look at the memorials and was about to be discovered by the empress dowager?

The empress dowager accidentally fell and had to spend months in bed.

The regent wouldn't give up and tried to kill her again?

He ended up poisoned himself, and his health grew so poor he couldn't even keep his official post!

Wonderful, just wonderful.

At this rate, becoming a wise ruler was just around the corner!

Qi Chu thought happily to herself. That evening, when she returned to the palace, she even invited Lin Xing to dine with her.

The empress, who usually never stayed, blushed that night and suggested they bathe together.

"Ahem."

As usual, Qi Chu fell back on her status as the older sister, saying there was no need to rush into such things. She had to become a wise ruler, focus on state affairs, and put the people first.

Lin Xing's eyes reddened, and she shook her head repeatedly.

"I must do my part for the people too. It would be best to bear an heir soon! Your Majesty, please stop rejecting me!"

As she spoke, Lin Xing released her pheromones.

Then she threw herself at Qi Chu and closed her eyes, about to kiss her.

She was the lucky star of the Qi Kingdom!

Without her, Qi Chu could lose her life in an instant!

The situation grew increasingly tense.

As they struggled, the two of them fell onto the imperial bed together.

"Your Majesty always says I'm your lucky star. Please don't reject me, okay?"

The pitiful woman, her clothes in disarray, choked back sobs, leaving Qi Chu unable to refuse.

Fine, fine.

Qi Chu thought: I'm the older sister, so I should take the initiative.

But Lin Xing, who had learned all sorts of things from the matrons, was the one in control!
