1.
As the company annual party ended, Liang Qiong was waiting for a car in the hotel lobby when she turned down a male colleague who had harassed her before, after he offered her a ride home. "Thanks, my husband is coming to pick me up."
The colleague looked surprised. "You're married?"
Liang Qiong took a ring out of her bag and put it on. "Yes. We haven't had the wedding yet. I'll invite you all to celebrate sometime."
She didn't know that Zhou Bingwen was walking toward her from behind as she said this, less than thirty meters away, his expression crumbling inch by inch.
2.
After many twists and turns, the project Liang Qiong was working on with the Zhou family's Huayao Group finally landed a contract. She earned accolades, but also attracted criticism.
Rumors about her relationship with Zhou Bingwen, deputy general manager of Huayao Group, spread everywhere.
To get away from the center of the gossip and build up her qualifications for a future promotion, Liang Qiong volunteered to transfer out of the group and work at a newly established subsidiary.
But her application was repeatedly rejected.
After learning the truth, Liang Qiong stormed into Zhou Bingwen's office and demanded to know why he was blocking her transfer.
Zhou Bingwen listened quietly to her accusations, his gaze dark and cold as he held her in his sights.
"Divorce him, and I'll go with you."
"I don't want anything else. I just want to go with you."
3.
Zhou Bingwen was born into wealth, and from the moment he was born, his family and mother had placed great expectations on him.
Amid the tangled feuds of the wealthy and their cold, indifferent loyalties, he grew into a distant, solitary young man.
Then, at seventeen, he met a girl who stood up for him and got into a fight.
She wasn't just good at fighting, she could eat a lot, too.
And she made him call her big sister.
A ray of light entered his bleak, colorless life and changed the course of his fate.
But later, the family obligations and debts of gratitude that came with his wealth forcibly "corrected" his destiny, trying to push him back onto his original path.
By the time he finally decided to give everything up and pursue his own life and happiness, the girl who had taught him to fight back was no longer there.
4.
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon are known as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Everyone yearns for their fabled beauty, but no one has ever seen what they really looked like.
Liang Qiong was no different.
Later, Zhou Bingwen spent five years building one.
On the day he proposed, he took Liang Qiong there by helicopter, landing in the center of the garden.
Exotic flowers and plants, mountains and streams, rocks and trees: it was like a fairyland.
In the garden among the clouds, Zhou Bingwen knelt on one knee and held Liang Qiong's hand in his palm.
"From now on, this is your kingdom, and I will be your subject forever."
#I'll give you a garden, if you'll give me a lifetime of love.
Reader's notes:
1. One-on-one, both leads have no prior partners, no real-life inspirations.
2. The story is set mainly in the present, with a few flashbacks to their romance. They make up only a small part of the story.
3. Aside from what's described in part 2 of the blurb, the male lead won't use his wealth or status to interfere with the female lead's career. He'll only quietly give her money instead. $_$ And even in part 2, he won't succeed.
4. Rekindled love, slow pace. The male lead will suffer a little, with a mini grovel arc. The female lead's marriage is a misunderstanding on his part alone.
5. Most of the workplace details are based on things found online and serve the plot. Please don't scrutinize them too closely. If there are any serious errors in principle or common knowledge, corrections are welcome.
6. Writing is hard work. If you like the story, please add it to your favorites! ⊙▽⊙
Theme: Love yourself before loving someone else
Everyone in this family is sick
The hero's family members are really haunted. Although he didn't do anything wrong, with such unclear parents, I don't think there is any need to get back together.
