▲ A gentlemanly brute × a stubborn beauty
▲ A Hong Kong tycoon and financier × an upper-middle-class heiress
▲ Princess, please add this to your collection! My next novel, "Fei Fei," is coming soon: a doddering-vine heroine rises up to "fight back," with the tables turned and the initiative swapped. Check the author's profile for the blurb!

Huo Shaopeng first sees Yu Baoyi when he leaves a banquet midway through. Before getting into his car, he spots a man and a woman arguing in a dark spot beyond the reach of the restaurant's wall lights.
The woman's voice is warm, clear, and melodious. She speaks unhurriedly, unlike Hong Kong's white-collar women, who seem to cram three sentences into one. Even when arguing, she has a natural sweetness and a vulnerable air that make it hard to scold her.
The man, however, has no idea what's good for him.
Huo Shaopeng glances over.
The night is deep, cloaking the woman's figure, and he can't make out her features. She stands straight and tall, yet he can clearly see the elegance she is forcing herself to maintain.
The man complains that she's useless and always messes things up, that she's late even delivering a suit, and that Mr. Huo has already left.
Oh?
There's only one Mr. Huo in all of Hong Kong whose leaving early could make a man lose his gentlemanly manners.
He remembers now.
The man is Shen Jingcheng, who wants to win a construction contract for a plot of land owned by Huo's group. Huo's friend knows he looks down on construction firms of that size, so he deliberately makes things difficult, spilling a glass of wine on Shen Jingcheng.
Even so, Shen Jingcheng bends his back and smiles apologetically.
- As shameless as a dog.
Later, Shen Jingcheng gets the project, and Mr. Huo takes a special liking to him. He starts attending more business dinners and parties, bringing Yu Baoyi along and struggling to navigate a world that isn't his.
Once, he holds roses and publicly declares his love for the girlfriend he's been dating for years. When the project gets underway, he plans to propose.
Hidden behind the crowd, Huo Shaopeng watches past the waves of cheering. His gaze is brazen, like that of a savage, greedy wolf, fixed on the woman smiling sweetly, her eyes shy and tender.
Later still,
he pulls a little trick.
On the night Shen Jingcheng successfully proposes, one mishap follows another. He has no choice but to ask Mr. Huo, who happens to be passing by, to take the drunken Yu Baoyi away.
In the middle of the night, Yu Baoyi wakes with a start. She looks at the video on her phone, and the light slowly fades from her bright eyes.
When she can no longer hold back and buries her face in the blanket, sobbing, Huo Shaopeng appears from the darkness at the golden moment of the hunt.
He tells her Shen Jingcheng left her behind.
The man pulls her into his arms. Her hot tears soak his shirt, and a damp haze rises in his heart too.
The ring on the woman's left ring finger digs into his back. Huo Shaopeng holds her even tighter, the veins at his neck bulging as he restrains himself. He does his utmost to make his voice sound like a gentleman's gentle reassurance: "Babe, don't cry."
"You still have me."
[Survival Guide / Content Warnings]
○ Forceful schemes and stealing someone's lover. The male lead is no good person: a despicable, manipulative, ruthless capitalist robber.
○ Both leads are from Hong Kong. The female lead's father is from mainland China. Her career means the story will move between locations.
○ Cantonese phrases in the story will be explained, except for "bb" and "jung yi," because everyone knows those.
○ Both leads have had previous partners, but they are each other's first and endgame in this story. Eight-year age gap: she is 24, he is 32.
○ Updates come at extremely ungodly hours, either late at night or early in the morning.
Core theme: Love is a work of art created by two people.
Speechless. . The ending is too sloppy and not a single thing that needs to be resolved is resolved.
What a sloppy ending.
Up to now, I feel like the male protagonist is bowing his head and willing to do anything for the female protagonist. On the surface, the female protagonist is making a choice, but in fact she is being forced to accept it. Writing about the real class gap is a great highlight, but it takes away a lot of space for the emotional development between the male and female protagonists. There are too many external factors, and the male and female protagonists are passively pushed by these external factors, rather than catalyzing the emotional process between two people through external factors. The reading experience between active and passive is very different. Emmm…
What you said in the end is really great!
It's great, but it's been several months and I haven't seen any more episodes.
When are you going to write a side story? It's been half a year since I updated.
When will there be a sequel? The ending is so sudden. [Orange Candy] is here.
It ended so suddenly
Sister, when will it be updated? I come here several times a day to check it out, but every time I come back disappointed.
A person's value must be earned by oneself, not by charity from superiors.
