Synopsis:
Jiang Yun was born into one of Haijing's most prominent families. His first twenty-one years went smoothly, but just as he was riding high, disaster struck in his twenty-second year.
Not only did he learn he was adopted, but his father's illegitimate son, who had been living outside the family, was also brought home and groomed as the heir.
Egged on by a crowd of rich young men, Jiang Yun wagered everything he had and entered an eight-year war of attrition with Liang Jin.
He did everything from opposing Liang Jin at every turn in business, to spending a fortune poaching his staff, to spreading rumors that Liang Jin was no good in bed.
He did every vile thing he could, lost everything, and eventually died in a car accident.
-
He closed his eyes, then opened them, reborn at the very beginning.
To stay away from Liang Jin and preserve his future wealth and comfort, Jiang Yun decided to keep a low profile, take it easy, and embrace doing absolutely nothing.
But then he met Liang Jin in a dream. Liang Jin was on top of him, a red mole on his chest swaying with each movement.
As they whispered into each other's ears, Liang Jin kissed the side of his neck and asked, eyes dark, whether he was any good in bed or not.
Jiang Yun jolted upright from his dying dream: ?
-
Being enemies was too hard, and being lovers was too much.
After exhausting every possible option, Jiang Yun chose a compromise:
He would be brothers with Liang Jin.
After a banquet one night, he brought a dead-drunk Liang Jin home. While Jiang Yun was making hangover soup, a giant human attachment pressed against his back.
The man rubbed his neck like he'd done it a hundred times and murmured, "A Yun, I've missed you so much."
Jiang Yun looked conflicted, wanting to speak but holding back.
This is getting a little too intimate, bro.
Reader's Note:
1. A slow-witted adopted son who doesn't realize he's in love x an aloof illegitimate son who loves him but won't say so.
2. A melodramatic hodgepodge with all the tropes turned up to the max, but with a happy ending.
3. Neither lead is perfect. They are not related by blood and are not registered under the same household.
-------------------Next Book: The Underdog. Synopsis:
Di Chen always felt that he and Cen Yanqiu belonged to different worlds.
Even without the old grudges between their fathers, even without Di Chen deliberately getting close to him for revenge, they still would never have ended up together.
On the day the scheme came to an end and Di Chen fled Yulin in disgrace, he called a mutual friend.
After he'd explained everything, their friend tried to persuade him to stay. A cold, mocking voice drifted in from the other end of the phone, sounding near and far at once.
"Isn't he the one who wants to leave? Let him go."
Years later, Di Chen walked downstairs carrying a bag of outgrown children's clothes.
The man who'd sworn to sever all ties was standing at a used-clothing drop-off station, still as haughty as ever, but looking a little pitiful.
Di Chen turned to leave, but the man grabbed his sleeve.
"Since when did you get so obedient? You just leave when told?"
"The kid's clothes... Who did you have a child with? When are you getting divorced?"
An unhappy child of privilege x a scheming, clueless fool
Theme: Love can transcend time.
Looking for a police officer Wei Shujiang
I said it was really hard for them in the first life 😭
I really like this feeling of exchanging letters
Well, we have finally come to this point again.
Has godmother really left? If a fake doctor really got in as Jiang Yun guessed, is it possible for the doctor who came out to report it? Maybe someone can still be saved? Will it really be gone if you delay it for a while longer?
Good ending... But I still miss my godmother TT
Wow, wow, it's so hard for both of us.
It's really, really beautiful (╥╥)
It's super, super well written, oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
The writing is very good. It's my first time to follow the series. I'm happy. I love you?
