Synopsis
[I did want to write this, but I wanted to tell a story that felt different from the rest. I don't think I'm quite there yet, so I'll push the launch date back a little. I hope readers who like this book will understand. (Apologetic bow)]
She once wrote a love letter to the person she liked. In it, she said: If the apocalypse comes, I'll run to you, no matter what.
But when the apocalypse really came, she hoped she would never see him again.
Reunion in the apocalypse, mutual pining, one-on-one romance.
Synopsis Fragment One:
A mysterious young man jumps from a high-rise. That day, everyone's attention is drawn to the police and firefighters, and no one notices the human DNA data stolen from a laboratory.
Six months later, winter arrives, and people in every city get flu shots.
On November 24, 2331, reports of residents biting people in an apartment complex in City A top the trending lists of every major media outlet.
A few days later, biting incidents break out across the country. The victims' wounds become infected, their minds grow deranged, and they begin attacking others with their teeth.
People begin to realize that an unknown virus is spreading across the nation.
By early 2332, most people have succumbed to the virus, lost their minds, and turned into biting zombies.
The virus begins spreading across the globe.
In March 2332, the world falls, and human civilization collapses.
In a zombie pit, Jiang Shi crawls out from beneath a pile of corpses and shoves away the child chewing on her hand.
She takes off her lab coat, casually twists the head off a nearby zombie, puts on its clothes, and heads for the Vampire Alliance.
When the apocalypse came, the virus gave some people supernatural abilities, but also turned them into creatures that needed to drink blood.
How is a vampire supposed to survive in the apocalypse?
Newly awakened, Jiang Shi doesn't hesitate to join the Vampire Alliance, hoping to find safety in numbers.
Synopsis Fragment Two:
Vampires grow ever more estranged from the people they once called their own. Fear and blood have built an insurmountable wall between them.
"Survival of the fittest. Vampires are devils who crawled out of hell. They came from among the forsaken, and they'll trample over human corpses to become the world's new masters."
"Vampires are more troublesome than zombies, but killing them still only takes cutting off their heads."
Jiang Shi has grown used to hearing vicious words. Looking back from the brink of death, there are moments when she catches sight of the real devils hiding among the crowd.
They fiddle with their cold glasses, recording humanity's lament.
She watches them calmly, tugs her mask up to cover her fangs, and lowers her head as she walks away.
The virus has taken her breath and body heat. Death has taken her feelings and thoughts. In this world, she has nothing left.
What can someone with nothing hope for?
Color-changing glasses hide her red eyes. She pulls at the corner of her mouth, puts on her hoodie, and has no intention of taking part in any conflict.
Synopsis Fragment Three:
A group of newcomers arrives at the Vampire Alliance in the north. One of them is strange: she never drinks human blood, and she even lets the blood slave assigned to her go.
One day, the Alliance transports a new batch of blood slaves. The newcomer falls in love with one of their blood types. For the sake of that blood, she releases them and leaves with them.
Later, the story's protagonist hears this tale. Jiang Shi: ?
Fell in love with blood?
She looks at the young man beside her. She has just drunk his blood, and he is resting with his eyes closed.
He is slender. To make it easier to drink his blood, she has unbuttoned two buttons of his white shirt, revealing his exquisite collarbones.
His skin is pale, and beneath the moonlight, he has an indescribably cool air about him.
He opens his eyes and looks at Jiang Shi with a smile, warmth touching his brows. "Jiang Shi, hold me."
Jiang Shi embraces the young man. His blood awakens her senses, and his body heat reaches her in his arms.
She thinks she hasn't fallen in love with blood. She's fallen in love with him.
For his sake, she's willing to pick up her weapon and become the invincible hero of the story.
Synopsis Fragment Four:
Xu Xingzhi grips her by the throat and kisses her, rough, domineering, and fierce.
Jiang Shi doesn't dare move. She stares blankly at the person before her.
He says, "Kiss me back."
He forces her lips apart.
She closes her eyes, feeling only the coldness throughout her body.
She's already dead. They're not the same.
She pushes him gently, resisting, rejecting him.
He stops and buries his face in her shoulder. "Why won't you kiss me back...?"
She fights the ache in her throat. "I..."
He suddenly lifts his head, his voice choked with tears. "Jiang Shi, who... who do you really like?"
A tear runs down his cheek and falls into her heart.
