The Great Song Dynasty: Fang Zhongyong [Imperial Exam System]

A modern science student transmigrates into Fang Zhongyong, the boy from Wang Anshi's writings.

He has neither the original's genius nor the golden finger unique to transmigrators.

All he has is a rather unimpressive imperial examination System.

The System tells him, "As long as you study hard, anything is possible."

Everyone around him thinks he's dull-witted and that a career in the imperial examinations is completely beyond him.

Yet every time, he proves them wrong with barely passing scores, making his way through the examinations to become a licentiate, a provincial graduate, and then a metropolitan graduate, before entering the imperial court.

Then, while his fellow officials dismiss him, he rises steadily through the ranks, becoming a renowned chancellor who stands alongside Guan Zhong and Yue Yi.

Reforming the bureaucracy, advancing technology, reclaiming lost territory...

Soon, all the great figures of the Northern Song Dynasty follow his lead...

From Wang Anshi's perspective:

The first time he meets Fang Zhongyong: I've never seen such a stupid child.

The second time he meets Fang Zhongyong: He's so stupid. His hard work is bound to be wasted.

The nth time he meets Fang Zhongyong: I was wrong. Hard work really can make all the difference. Zhonglang has accomplished what I couldn't in half a lifetime. I must write an essay to inspire future generations.

Theme: Hard work creates a brighter future
