Su Xuefei, a trainee policewoman at a local police station, joins the force after passing the civil service recruitment exam and skills test. She is later transferred to the city's criminal investigation division. During this time, she follows the veteran officers at the station and experiences the busy, mundane work of a beat cop. After moving to criminal investigations, she joins her colleagues in facing the hardships and dangers of solving cases.
Xie Bei, an art teacher, has been unable to emerge from the grief of losing his former girlfriend in an unfortunate accident. Policewoman Su Xuefei, meanwhile, was hurt deeply by a relationship in college and no longer believes in love. By chance, Xie Bei and Su Xuefei meet, and after several years of spending time together, they gradually grow close.
