Bellica, a fallen young lady living with her cousin, discovers that she can see the most scandalous, taboo stories unfolding around the people in her life.
For example, her cousin's new lover is cheating on three women at once. Besides her cousin, he's also the lover of Madam Roya next door, her cousin's sworn enemy.
For example, her cousin's husband has just been approached by an illegitimate child claiming to be his. But the child doesn't seem to be his at all.
Always cautious, Bellica can only protect her place to stay by eating up the gossip and helping them avoid disaster.
Yet somehow, this seems to open the door to a whole new world.
A werewolf burdened with a scandalous past and no idea who his real father is comes bounding to her, asking for help finding his mother, and becomes her most loyal friend...
A terrifying vampire hiding on campus blocks her path and asks her to help him pursue his forbidden-love bride, promising to follow her forever...
A swamp monster princess, repeatedly betrayed by the empire, becomes her best friend. She maneuvers between her fiance and his brother, and rises to the very top...
Before she knows it, Bellica, who gets caught up in gossip but ends up helping the terrifying monsters, has become everyone's beloved darling.
Only her strict and fearsome tutor keeps looking at her from time to time, murmuring, "Is there a story about you and me in the books you read?"
"No..."
Mr. Derek, known as the Demon King of the Abyss, calmly pins her against the desk. He lightly bites her lips, his voice stubborn and low. "Bellica, you haven't been reading carefully."
