[Raising Kids] [Worldbuilding] [Court Politics] [Female Lead]
What's it like to transmigrate into the body of an empress dowager who controls the court, lets eunuchs disrupt the state, and keeps a harem of three thousand handsome men? Yang Chonglou says it's too much of a good thing. It's a real headache!
They scheme against one another, compete for favor, and act like bewitching little demons, all wasting her time.
Her son is three years old and has picked up some bad habits from the harem. He loves pretty faces and is cruel and bloodthirsty. According to the original course of history, he will wage wars across the land, slaughter worthy ministers, and lose the country just a few years after ascending the throne, leaving a legacy of infamy.
Her daughter is only five, yet she talks every day about setting up a wine pond and meat forest. In the future, she's supposedly going to be deceived, lose both her money and her freedom, and be sold off to a bitterly cold land.
The country is beset by internal and external troubles. Scholars across the land condemn the demon empress for ruining the state, while the people suffer and go hungry.
Faced with this mess, Yang Chonglou knows that failing to act decisively will only make things worse! With a wave of her hand, she first dismisses the harem. Those who don't want to leave can put their talents to work for the country and make themselves useful!
Next, she institutes new policies, appoints worthy officials, drives out corrupt ones, opens new examinations, values both scholarship and the military, opens the coast, and fights the Japanese pirates...
And of course, she has to teach her son and daughter everything by hand!
A ruler who loses the country? Not a chance. Her son will become a wise emperor!
A hapless, muddleheaded princess? No way. Her daughter will become a great navigator!
Bonus scene:
The civil and military officials: The Empress Dowager is beautiful and graceful, wise inside and out. We have long admired her great wisdom. Might we recommend ourselves for her bed?
Yang Chonglou: Get lost! Men slow me down when I'm drawing my blade!
The three-year-old emperor and five-year-old princess: Mother, we heard that raising corvee labor and taxes will give us endless wealth and fun. Why work so hard at handling court affairs every day?
Yang Chonglou: My little ones~ Think bigger! Put the world map beneath your feet. All the fun is out there!
