After seven years studying abroad, Jiang Shujuu returns to China and becomes a lecturer at her alma mater. Every day, she's buried in data analysis.
Jiang's mother sees that her daughter has been single for years and urges her to go on a blind date. A neighbor has recommended a researcher, supposedly honest and respectable.
She knows the matchmaker's spiel, but still digs out the floral dress she wore in her freshman year from the bottom of the closet. She takes a weekend off and drives to the meeting place.
Wen Jingkai has never had any illusions about love, and he can't stand marriage or dating.
That day, his friend's car gets a flat tire on the way to work, and he's urgently asked to go to a hotel to apologize in his friend's place to the person waiting there.
As he enters, he sees a girl sitting in a corner of the lobby, waving at him. She has a genuine, innocent smile, and her dress is wrinkled. She doesn't look like a wealthy divorcee who's about to sue someone for divorce at all.
He tugs at his tie and strides over. After sitting down, he flips through two pages of documents, then looks up and asks politely, "Do you want children?"

A few thoughts after reading this novel: When I first read this novel, I found the writing very attractive and unconventional. As I read on slowly, I found that this novel describes a different kind of "marriage first, love later". The special "two-way secret love" and various "accidents" jointly created this marriage that started from each other's "third party perspective". Regarding the male protagonist, I particularly like the fact that he respects women and has very upright views. But he was also anxious because of his lack of patience and Diudiu's escapism from reality. As for the heroine, her personality is very special and her hobbies are very specific (this is the first time I see a heroine who likes cookies so much, I can smell butter through the screen hahahahahaha). Sometimes she boldly pursues love, and sometimes she is temporarily stopped by the "sense of immorality" that she makes up on her own. The writing in the first few chapters was a bit jumpy (the part where they reunited in the first chapter was a bit unsatisfactory), but the rhythm in the rest is very good, praise, praise, love eyes!
