Lu Hui has had a crush on Professor Xun from the university next door for five years.
She’s just one introduction away from dating her.
But Lu Hui doesn’t dare. She’s terrified of being rejected.
Until one day…
Xun Lianzhi has an accident and nearly dies.
Lu Hui unexpectedly comes to her rescue. From then on, Xun Lianzhi knows her, remembers her, and even adds her contact information.
But Lu Hui changes her mind.
She no longer hopes to become her lover.
Lu Hui thinks that as long as she’s safe and well,
as long as Lu Hui can stay by her side forever as a friend, protecting and caring for her,
that’s enough.
…
But things seem to be taking a turn Lu Hui never expected.
One day, Lu Hui suddenly receives an invitation from Xun Lianzhi to move into her crush’s home.
Couple: A two-faced, vicious graduate student who’s sunny only for his wife × a cool, aloof professor who saw through this dog ages ago but remains emotionally unruffled
Before you read:
1. The cover is exclusive and must not be reused. Respect creative work; do not feed it to AI.
2. Happy ending. This is probably a short, romance-focused story. The leads have a seven-year age gap and attend different universities and study different subjects. There is no teacher-student relationship between them. If you see any strange forms of address such as “senior,” “upperclassman,” “teacher,” or “professor,” Lu Hui is just talking big and claiming nonexistent relatives.
3. The universities, degrees, and academic programs in this story are all the author’s made-up inventions. The setting is entirely fictional, so please don’t compare it to reality.
A completed story in the same series is available in my collection: “Lu Lives Like a Two-Legged Beast (Mermaid).” It can be read on its own; the stories just share a setting, each focuses only on its main couple, and neither has a secondary couple.
4. Overall, this isn’t really a story about saving someone.
5. Blurb written on 231005; revised on 250327. Thank you for preordering.
Content warnings
[One of the leads has experienced sexual assault and a miscarriage.] Once I’ve filled in this plot point, I will never again include this kind of crime in any of my stories.
One of the leads in this story was originally a supporting character in my previous novel. Two years later, I looked back at the story I wrote then and couldn’t understand why I’d written that plot point. It did have some narrative logic in the previous novel, but if I were writing it now, I would choose to keep it out of the fictional world, no matter how logical it might be or how much the plot seemed to need it. So I won’t include this kind of plot in my future stories, whether the crime is committed against a protagonist, a supporting character, or an unnamed passerby. If this makes you uncomfortable, please stop reading.
Theme: Independence and self-reliance
Lu Hui regards "two years of separation" as a death sentence for love; Xun Lianzhi regarded it as a short-term growing pain. Xun Lianzhi's sobriety may seem cold, but in fact she is truly responsible - she refuses to let love become an anesthetic, but forces Lu Hui to face the weight of life. **Loving someone sometimes pushes her to a wider sky instead of locking her into a warm cage. If Lu Hui insists on giving up, she will not only lose her project qualifications, but also Xun Lianzhi's respect for her as an "independent personality"-this is It is the true death of a relationship. Because I think both sides are reasonable, I asked AI to evaluate it. If it were in reality, I would support the desperate career brain. If it were a novel, I would support the tenacious love brain. Life in novels is already hard enough. How about we talk about a sweet love?
I'll give it a try, and then I'd like to watch the extra, if I like it
Okay, okay, luckily I didn't really give up.
Why does Lianzhi have to ask so many times?
It's the end of October, when will the new book be released?
It's so beautiful. I'll finish it in one go.
Zhizhi, I still want to watch the extra episode
It turns out that Professor Xun deliberately tested
