My Fiancé Pretended to Lose His Memory, So I Switched Marriage Partners

One week before the wedding, Lin Xi realizes something is off about her fiance, Gu Chen.

Not only is he late to their dates, but he can't meet her gaze. Has he fallen for someone else?

Before she can test him, Gu Chen gets into a car accident. When he wakes up, he looks at her like a stranger and asks, "Who are you?"

Lin Xi tries every way she can think of to help Gu Chen recover his memories, but each attempt fails.

By chance, she discovers that she is living inside a novel, and her fiance is the male lead. He pretended to have amnesia to escape the wedding and rekindle his relationship with the female lead.

Lin Xi refuses to force the issue and immediately calls off the engagement.

The next day, the Gu family brings Gu Chen to apologize, saying the marriage between the Gu and Lin families was arranged by their elders and asking Lin Xi to forgive Gu Chen for his disgraceful behavior.

Lin Xi says coldly, "His head's been damaged. Why would we still go through with the marriage?"

The Gu family keeps trying to persuade her, so she points to the most aloof and distinguished man in the room.

"If I have to marry into your family, I'll choose him."

Everyone knows Gu Xu, the actual head of the Gu family, never shows his emotions. He's the most untouchable man in their social circle.

Lin Xi names him as her choice for the marriage purely to make things difficult for the Gu family.

Who would have thought Gu Xu would give a slight nod and say, "All right."

His words leave everyone present stunned.

A week later, the wedding takes place as planned.

That day, Gu Xu walks with Lin Xi's arm in his, the corners of his mouth curving up ever so slightly.

He seems to have descended from heaven, yet somehow not quite all the way.

Lin Xi thinks the wedding with Gu Xu is just a temporary arrangement to save face for both families.

She never expected Gu Xu to insist on going with her to register their marriage, or to sign over his shares to her of his own accord.

It was supposed to be an emergency measure. Why is he taking it so seriously?

And why has she fallen for him?
