Fu Ying was a peasant girl, delicate and lovely, with a pair of tender, soulful eyes that made hearts flutter.
As the villagers put it, Heaven had been blind to give someone with such a hard life such a face. It was a curse.
She and her widowed mother depended on each other, but her face constantly brought trouble. Thugs and hooligans blocked the entrance to their home, making life unbearable.
Just as she picked up a shard of stone, ready to scar her face, her mother looked at the handsome young man Fu Ying had picked up a few days earlier and said, "Why don't you marry him? Once you're married, the men in town will stop pestering you."
Fu Ying thought it sounded fine. He was handsome and scholarly. He was a little frail, but that didn't matter. She didn't mind.
His only shortcoming was that he was blind.
That suited her perfectly. Fu Ying disliked the way those men looked at her, and a blind husband was just what she wanted.
Carrying her bundle, Fu Ying used the favor he owed her to make him marry her, and the two began their life together.
She treated him well, as she did everyone. Though he was cold at first, in time they settled into a life of mutual respect.
Just as Fu Ying thought things were getting better day by day, her husband suddenly disappeared on their wedding day. Months passed, and he left no trace.
The next time she saw him was on a main street in the prefectural capital.
The man was handsome, peerlessly so, dressed in brocade robes. He rode a tall horse, showing no sign of frailty, and passed her without so much as a glance.
She didn't know when his eyes had healed.
But she knew he hadn't recognized her.
Or perhaps he had recognized her, but didn't want to acknowledge her.
He was a noble young master from an eminent family, while she was an ordinary country girl. There had always been an enormous gulf between them.
Fu Ying adjusted the muddy vegetables in her basket, turned, and walked away without a trace of regret.

Qi Changyuan had stood out from childhood and was widely renowned. But while pursuing rebels, he fell off a cliff, leaving him blind, injured, and with confused memories.
A peasant girl rescued him, then used her favor to get him to agree to all sorts of things.
He thought she was utterly devoted to him.
But he would never fall for a country girl like her, so earthy and provincial, who never stopped talking about village affairs. She was unbearably dull.
So when his personal guards found him, he left her money and valuables and departed from the countryside he never wanted to think about again.
He thought it wouldn't take long to forget her.
But she seemed to have bewitched him, taking deep root in his heart. She must have some kind of demonic power.
-- Otherwise, why would his heart ache so unbearably when he saw her laughing and chatting with another man?
Desire grew within him. He wanted only to snatch her back and keep her locked by his side,
to make sure she could never leave him again.
# He thought he was the heartless one, but he never imagined she would be even more ruthless.

Coming soon: Married to My Nemesis After Being Jilted
[For Ten Years, I Thought the Ice-Cold Man's Secret Crush Was My Nemesis]
Chang Wanqing, Yongchun Commandery Princess and daughter of the Duke of the State, was jilted.
The news sent shock waves through the court and the capital.
Everyone knew she was born to privilege and dazzlingly beautiful. The Empress's own niece, she had been raised spoiled and willful from childhood, and was famous throughout the capital for her arrogance and domineering ways.
Now that her marriage had ended in disaster, people watched for a laugh and said that Meng, the ungrateful young gentleman who'd rejected her, would probably lose his life for it.
-
Chang Wanqing really did want to kill him.
But just as she raised her riding crop, another hand clamped down on it. A strong forearm emerged from a sleeve of deep black, its taut veins radiating an indescribable force as it stopped her.
Meng Fuhan, Commander of the Palace Guard.
And the elder half-brother of the young Master Meng who had just broken off his engagement to her.
The man sternly took her riding crop with one hand and pushed her into a carriage with the other, then lowered the curtain.
The carriage was dim, and the distance between them abruptly narrowed. Chang Wanqing instinctively raised a hand, ready to order this wretch, who had never gotten along with her, out of her space.
His next words left her completely stunned.
"Why not marry me?" Meng Fuhan's words seemed absurd. "I'll help you get revenge on him."
-
...Though he was her nemesis.
They had known each other for years, and their grudges ran deep.
Whether he snatched away a coveted pearl before she could claim it, or mocked her until she made a fool of herself on the polo field, he always seemed to come out on top.
She couldn't let her pride take a beating. Meng Fuhan was better than that blind fiancé of hers in every way. He held a high position and immense power, and would surely never come home after they married. Chang Wanqing didn't hesitate for long before accepting.
At first, Chang Wanqing only meant to squander his family's money. She would feast and drink, sing and carouse every night, turn the Meng household upside down, and get revenge on this calculating, handsome enemy of hers along the way.
But later, beneath layers of gauze curtains, in the flickering lamplight,
she tried to retreat, only for him to catch her by the ankle. Meng Fuhan bent to kiss her, silencing her increasingly broken words with his lips.
"Stop being angry..." Chang Wanqing gave in, her flushed eyes trembling. "...Can't I just promise not to go to the brothel?"
The man only smiled faintly, his usually cool voice tinged with huskiness.
"If Madam is dissatisfied, you can always tell your husband."
"Don't go looking for anyone else."
"After all... your husband is jealous."
-
Once, he had glimpsed the moon from the gutter.
Until the day she came to him, and spring dawned for Fuhan.
He took the riding crop from her, then held her hand. He had waited ten years for this day.
|And later, later still, I saw myself in your eyes.|

When will the Prince's book be updated 🐰

Come quickly (little face is yellow)
This novel is among the top novels I have read in the past six months. It was really satisfying to read it in one sitting. I give up on many novels after reading them halfway. I collected this novel a long time ago because the introduction attracted me, and I read it after the main text was finished. I didn't expect it to be so beautiful, and the writing style is not bad either 😍 I also love the introduction of the next book, ahhhh [Spread flowers] 💪 Come on Da Da
It's over, and I feel a sense of loss. Fu Ying and Chang Yuan have gone through so much, from the encounter with amnesia, to the life and death rescue, to Chang Yuan's heartbreaking confession, I really like many heart-wrenching plots. I still recall those ups and downs, but in the end, five years have passed. It was just mentioned in one stroke, and in the end, the sweet and sour taste turned into the dullness of meeting each other and being together naturally. It always felt a bit hasty, unable to catch up with the ups and downs in the front, and it felt like the progress behind it was a bit fast. But then again, maybe the dull ending is more in line with Fuying's overall temperament. I hope that a dull life is what she really wants. After Qianfan stayed together for the rest of her life, I feel that Chang Yuan and Fuying have missed a lot of each other's stories. I hope there can be an if line to make up for this small shortcoming. (Then again, regret is the norm. Once you make a choice, the other path will collapse, and it will become a regret when you look back. So, I once again hope that there can be an if line to make up for it. For example, the prince did not go back after regaining his memory. For example, he did not miss each other in the past five years (hahahaha, it is so difficult. It feels like another story. I am just talking and providing ideas hahahaha)) Very good article, personal opinion, great!! Getting better and better, happy April~
Hahahahahaha Xiao Qi choked up 😂 😂 😂 💔
It's coming to an end so soon. I want many, many, many, many sweet extras!! (I really miss the sweet and youthful time when Mr. Qi lost his memory, woo woo woo)
