Every day after Somekawa Sei realized his innate technique, he had a headache.
Both physically and mentally.
The first problem was that he could see other people's wishes. When they weren't so intense, they were called emotions.
It's cool, but can someone explain why this passive ability has a side effect?
Having a headache 24 hours a day is going to kill me.
Usually, he wouldn't bother with a kid whose balloon was stuck in a tree, a classmate who'd lost their cat, or a neighbor going through a breakup. After all, putting up with the headache was easier than granting their wishes.
That is, until Edogawa Ranpo moved in across the street. Somekawa Sei finally discovered that teasing people was just too much fun.
Eventually, after suffering severe backlash from every prank, he learned to talk tough.
After entering Jujutsu High, Somekawa Sei discovered that he could see another kind of wish.
The bullet comments that occasionally appeared in his mind let him know what was happening elsewhere.
Somekawa Sei: Ah, standard light novel protagonist stuff.
Which led to his second problem.
This was the 2D world of Jujutsu Kaisen, and he was a prequel character.
Generally speaking, prequel character → supporting character → cannon fodder → gets killed off.
Extremely annoying.
His last problem was that people often mistook his technique for mind reading.
"Senpai! Can you tell me what I had for breakfast today?"
[Honest question: why can mind reading attack cursed spirits?]*n
"I told you my technique isn't mind reading, idiot!!"
What a headache.

It can sense, collect, and make use of other people's wishes, but the user suffers backlash multiplied several times over.
