As a member of the Fatui, Azel was assigned to work as a spy in the Fortress of Meropide right at the start of his career, keeping an eye on the Chief Justice's every move.
With no experience whatsoever, Azel could only say: This is hard. Really hard.
The Chief Justice had an endless number of duties. Every day, he was either out on assignment or holed up in the interrogation room. Whenever he appeared in public, he reeked of blood, making everyone's blood run cold.
After the Chief Justice's tenth personal secretary quit, timid Azel was put in the position.
F-for the mission, I have to be prepared for anything!

There's something strange about the Chief Justice's new secretary.
Someone saw the usually cold Chief Justice deliberately slow his pace while out on assignment, as if to accommodate his secretary's shorter stride.
Someone else noticed that the Chief Justice had gone easy on his interrogation methods, and there wasn't even any blood. Sure enough, not long after, word got around that the secretary fainted at the sight of blood.
Stranger still, the secretary wore heavy clothes that reached all the way up to his neck every day, as if he were trying to hide some marks.
Hmm... what kind of marks?
After hearing some strange noises coming from the Chief Justice's office one day, everyone in the Fortress of Meropide finally understood.
So that's the kind of relationship they have?

One job is hard enough. Two jobs are downright deadly.
Azel dutifully followed the Chief Justice around every day, terrified that his identity as a spy would be exposed.
But for some reason, he noticed that his colleagues looked at him differently.
Almost... with pity?
Every so often, Azel would get strange questions from his colleagues.
Like, "Is the Chief Justice really that energetic?" and "Is the Chief Justice really that bad in bed?"
He certainly is energetic, but what does that have to do with being bad at something?

Wriothesley discovered that a member of the Fatui had infiltrated the Fortress of Meropide. To keep a closer eye on him, he transferred the man to work at his side.
Gradually, he realized that the man's abilities as a spy were subpar, and he wasn't very bright, either.
To make the Fatui suspect that Azel had already defected, Wriothesley deliberately spread rumors and made sure Azel heard them.
He had considered dozens of possible outcomes, but never imagined that the other man would come right out and ask him.
"Are you really bad in bed?"
Wriothesley: …
He narrowed his eyes and threw the question back at him.
"Why don't you find out?"
The moment he saw the other man nod, Wriothesley's brain short-circuited.

Azel really was prepared to sacrifice everything. It's just that...
He meant he was mentally prepared, not physically prepared! Aaaah!
Pairing: Wriothesley x Azel
Wriothesley may have a bit of a bloodlust setting (maybe, maybe; the final setting won't be decided until I start writing)
