After transmigrating from a novel, where she was a delicate, irresistible courtesan heroine, into a matriarchal world as a towering, eight-pack-abbed crown princess, Yu Xi would often sneak off to cry at night because she couldn’t adjust to her new identity.
She had only just returned to the palace from the common people when the Empress sent her to the allied nations’ military academy. Before she left, the captain of her guard said she would teach her a secret technique. Thinking herself weak and helpless, Yu Xi eagerly asked for instruction.
Instead, the captain pulled a picture book from her robes, filled with illustrations of little people in all sorts of poses.
The captain spoke with a solemn expression:
“First, I’ll teach you how to stop menstruating!”
After one night that elevated her soul, Yu Xi learned how to spend a night of passion with the young men without getting pregnant, and began her difficult journey as a student.
On her very first day, she met:
Roommate 1, who also had an eight-pack but was even more bundled up than she was.
Roommate 2, a naturally powerful girl from a desert nation who loved running around naked.
Roommate 3, a good-for-nothing who was always yelling that she wanted to fight the top student.
...And herself, a delicate woman who had somehow become the top student.
During the day, she trained alongside her classmates.
Sweaty from exertion, she gracefully fanned herself with a folding fan. Then she turned and saw a group of pixelated women charging toward her, their bare chests bouncing.
Yu Xi shouted, “My eyes! My eyes!”
After class, she ate in the cafeteria.
She asked the cook to serve her just a tiny spoonful of greens, delighted at the thought of starving herself back into the willowy waist she’d had in her previous life.
But a hungry classmate at the next table thought she was being taunted. She threw down her food bowl and challenged Yu Xi to a duel.
So Yu Xi knocked her classmate to the ground in tears, and the teacher who had witnessed it appointed her class monitor.
At last, she got a holiday, which coincided with the annual flower-float parade.
A princess on a float, dressed in an elaborate ball gown that showed off her slender legs, scattered handfuls of gifts. Tempted by her beauty, Yu Xi and her roommates scrambled to grab them.
When they returned to the dorm, Yu Xi fell silent...
Why were the gifts at the flower-float parade tampons?!!!
1. This is a fully matriarchal story, with a maternal social structure where only mothers are known and fathers are not. The heroine’s country has no such identity as “father.”
2. The setting is a wild mashup of ancient martial arts, immortal cultivation, and steam machinery. There are many nations, and the heroine’s is only one of them.
3. Sexual orientations are not specified. There will be no male-male romance, but there may be female-female scenes, which will be noted in the title. The main romance is still between a woman and a man. This is not gender-bender, and there will be no scenes involving men’s backsides. The matriarchal heroine simply doesn’t have a penis.
4. There are many original worldbuilding elements, so please read the guide carefully before starting the story. This is a self-indulgent work written to satisfy my own tastes; please forgive me if anything makes you uncomfortable.
Original worldbuilding:
Children: refers to children, usually girls.
Na: a woman marrying a husband.
There are no female emperors or crown princesses, only male emperors and crown princes.
Princess: refers to the emperor’s sons.
Nanyou: friendship between women.
Xu: a kind, elderly woman.
Theme: See the world from a different perspective
