I Borrowed an Evil God to Cultivate the Heartless Dao, Then Faked My Death

[Cool and aloof, chatty heroine who only wants to comprehend the Dao x Initially spacey, secretly dark, then villainous and deranged hero]

They say evil gods are cruel and merciless, committing every kind of evil, and that the first person each evil god kills is the one who summoned them.

After Li Zhixue failed her tribulation and transmigrated to the cultivation world, her scumbag father schemed to summon an evil god for her, so she could cultivate the Heartless Dao.

No one had summoned an evil god in thousands of years. Every evil god was desperate for a chance to get out, and Gu Hening won the scramble.

Though he had only just graduated from evil god school, Gu Hening was confident he had a bright future in the profession.

He lowered his brows and scrutinized Li Zhixue from head to toe. "What is your wish?"

Li Zhixue looked at the youth, as pure as snow beneath a clear sky. "How about we date?"

The ferocity Gu Hening had feigned in his eyes and brows vanished in surprise. The rules for evil gods required them to grant one request from their summoner.

But... surely he didn't have to sell himself?

Li Zhixue changed her wish. "Help me find someone suitable. Until you do, pretend you like me."

Gu Hening agreed. Once he fulfilled her wish, he would kill her immediately.

But no matter how Li Zhixue looked, she couldn't find a single person she liked. It made Gu Hening grit his teeth in frustration.

At last, one day, Li Zhixue spotted a handsome man and asked Gu Hening what he thought of him.

Gu Hening froze for a long moment, then turned away and said coldly, "He flirts with everyone. He's not suitable."

Li Zhixue disagreed. She was cultivating the Heartless Dao, and this kind of charming but cold-hearted ladies' man was just what she needed.

One day, Gu Hening pinned Li Zhixue down. His eyes reddened. "You can't like him."

Li Zhixue was confused. "How can I cultivate the Heartless Dao if I don't like him?"

Gu Hening: "Choose me."

Li Zhixue: "But didn't you turn me down?"

Gu Hening: "I changed my mind."

Later, Li Zhixue realized Gu Hening really did like her. She only wanted to comprehend the Dao, not capture the heart of an innocent young man!

Hardening her heart, Li Zhixue faked her death and ran away.

From then on, the cultivation world had one fewer evil god who spent all day following Li Zhixue around, and one more madman obsessed with finding her.
