Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, had three consorts surnamed Yang in his harem. Two of them were famous: the elder Yang Consort, daughter of Emperor Yang of Sui, and the younger Yang Consort, wife of Li Yuanji, Prince of Chao.
Yang Zhaozhao, however, accidentally transmigrated into the little-known third consort, the real Consort Yang Shu.
She remembered that of Li Shimin's sons, only Li Zhi, the future Emperor Gaozong, ultimately met a good end. Aside from having a short life, Prince Zhao Li Fu was otherwise quite fortunate. And Consort Yang Shu was Li Fu's birth mother.
Yang Zhaozhao felt her fate wasn't bad at all. As long as she kept herself alive, the good days still lay ahead!
