[Insectoid] Secret Lover

Classes are starting for this college student, so updates will generally be every three days. I'll post a bonus chapter for every 100 nutrient points.

This is my first novel, written as practice. I read all kinds of things, so my inspiration comes from all over the place. (The inspiration for the Zerg's initial abilities came from the Paradox grand strategy game Stellaris.) Later on, during the "Universal Conquest" arc, I expect to throw in some fourth-calamity jokes.

The worldbuilding is ridiculously huge, so the early pacing is slow as I gradually introduce the setting (and I promise it'll be awesome). I expect this to be a long novel of 200+ chapters.

P.S. The first chapter explains the System (it might be a little boring). If you want to jump straight to the adorable protagonist after he transmigrates, feel free to skip chapter one. It won't affect your later reading. (Scratches head.)

Here's how the story goes

Me, a fine young man in my twenties, transmigrated because of two unreliable, rotten-luck Systems...

I split apart (literally).

I never expected that even in 2024, the great wave of immigration to other worlds would still be going strong. But wherever you are, as long as you're alive, you're alive, right?

I chose to lie flat right where I was ×2 and start enjoying my retirement early.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. There were just too many people stirring up trouble for the fun of it. If I wanted the peaceful life of my dreams, even a salted fish like me had to get moving!

So, with my humble dream of retirement in mind, I stirred up political turmoil and staged a coup while also escaping a planet-wide battle royale. One day I'd just beheaded a batch of treacherous rebels, and the next I'd be slapping down the shameless fake young master who'd stolen my identity... During those days when I was too busy to keep my feet on the ground, I also had to squeeze in four years of military academy, then take part in a major StarNet military tournament. With power in my hands, worshipped by the masses, ruling across the stars and carving out my own domain, I had just walked out of a final exam when inspiration struck:... In this cold and lonely reality, it seemed the only thing that still had any warmth was my perfect-score exam papers.

I still had to keep grinding.

Is it really so lovesick to skip graduation prom just to find my other half? Huh? What "honeymoon"? You Zerg think such filthy thoughts! Can't a male Zerg and a female Zerg just have a genuine friendship?!

Hah! Who doesn't go a little crazy? We're all just holding on by a thread! You should know, I was only just discharged before I transmigrated, and I have multiple personality disorder!

The Zerg world is a savage wasteland where war has been eternal from birth to death. The lot of its fifty billion Zerg lays bare every absurdity and sorrow of human life. Everyone suffers; everyone is ignorant. They simply live, their souls ground down as they do...

Until the day a mysterious livestream room appeared

From beginning to end, they watched another universe and the fantastical upheaval of the Zerg Empire, witnessing two rulers who shone brilliantly amid the splendor of a galaxy-wide revolution, bound together by a fate that endured until death.

Salahman, the red rose, and Ravennas, the white rose...

They fell in love with both the red rose and the white rose... and then watched helplessly as the two roses growing in their hearts got together!

They were enemies, best friends, gifts of fate, everything to each other! Ah! What a divine romance!, And so the viewers were left heartbroken, sobbing until their faces were covered in tears and snot.

(Note: This is a self-indulgent work by a deranged monster-fetishist who has to make his own food. The characters' values and some of their extreme words and actions do not reflect the author's own beliefs. Please don't take things out of context and read too much into them. (I'm just a fragile, useless wreck who can't find anything to read.) If you want to curse someone, curse the characters, not me. (Shrugs.))

The top is Perseus N. Ravennas (nicknamed Percy or the Little Prince, and he's a tsundere). The bottom is Mugashe T. Salahman (you can call him Brother Mu, and he's a shameless BKing).

Two universally adored characters in a 1v1 pairing, with a pure, mutual romance (slow burn; before adulthood, only personality-level affection; romance develops after they come of age. P.S. There may be one-sided crushes that go unnoticed, but the author promises there will be no third parties before or after they get together!!!)

Content warnings:

1. The Zerg setting features a universally deranged population, so don't be too surprised by anything you encounter.

2. The protagonists have normal values. Whether or not the story goes crazy depends on my mental state while writing.

3. This isn't a face-based everyone-loves-them story, nor a traditional redemption story about treating female Zerg gently. The protagonist treats male and female Zerg alike, and his appeal is universal.

4. Both leads are powerful in every way. This is not a weak top (an INTJ, master of disguises, political schemer, and universally adored top: you never know what other trump card he has up his sleeve), nor a groveling, lovesick bottom (an ENTJ, controlling tyrant × free-spirited romantic knight). The tension between them is intense.

(P.S. These two old foxes have each other completely figured out. They respect each other and know where to draw the line, so anyone with an extreme top-or-bottom preference should stay away.)

5. The main story begins when the top is nine and the bottom is fifteen. They are minors at first.

6. The livestream starts in chapter six (it's not filler! It's not filler! It's not filler!), and serves only to provide background information and analyze and explain the protagonists' actions. Apart from supernatural abilities, there are no other golden fingers in the novel.
