The moment polluted water was dumped into the ocean, it set the stage for the upheaval to come. The butterfly effect would bring humanity a tragedy.
"What do we do now?"
"Break through the city walls."
The siege walls collapsed, leaving wreckage everywhere. Through the smoke as it settled, Jiang Shu raised his foot and crushed the enemy's weapon. "Oh, your talisman broke."
The battlefield was a patchwork of destruction. The enemy forces had been wiped out, but they still had another enemy.
Now, those things were the masters of the world.
The fairy tale ends with us living alongside the darkness.
"Then why keep living?"
The world was already dead, and they wouldn't last much longer.
Beside the campfire, a man's profile glimmered in the dark. He spoke.
"Because you're an heirloom."
When disaster came, we raised our glasses to celebrate surviving.
1. The timeline is vague, and the setting is in the future.
2. It's all made up, with no research and no particular literary merit.
3. Inspired by current events, and in part by the song New Earth.
4. As for supernatural abilities, Chen Yu's ability can be thought of as [an upgraded Elsa], with few changes. Jiang Shu isn't entirely human. He has half-demon blood, and undergoes some transformations.
5. I wrote this for fun with a friend, so the powers, plot, and so on aren't carefully designed. It's all very casual.
