Coming soon: After I Blessed That Calamity, She Became Invincible
[Blurb]
One blow to the head turned Liang Ying from a dowry attendant into the male favorite of Liu Bai, the third princess of Qi.
Liu Bai was the youngest daughter of the Duke of Qi, yet she lived alone in Lan Garden, a place cut off from the world. She had only three servants, never spoke, and let no one approach. Everyone thought she was mute and disabled. Her marriage had been delayed for years, and although people repeatedly offered her male favorites, none survived longer than three days.
Liang Ying thought she was surely doomed this time. Yet Liu Bai never laid a finger on her, and Liang Ying could not even catch a glimpse of her.
The bamboo blinds beside the window remained shut. Liang Ying never saw Liu Bai's face, only the music of her fingertips on the strings.
Little did she know that three years later, when the new ruler of Qi took the throne in a bloody coup, he would take Liang Ying by the hand...
· Gao Xi's Umbrella ·
The rain poured down. Liang Ying curled up on a stone bridge, her icy skin chilled to the bone. Tears mingled with raindrops and streamed down her cheeks.
A paper umbrella shifted above her, shielding her from the rain. She looked up. Gao Xi was standing beside her.
"By now, you should understand that some things are beyond human power."
"We were strangers once. Why shield me from the wind and rain now?"
She stood and pushed Gao Xi's hand away, but her vision went black and she collapsed, burning with fever and unconscious.
Gao Xi carried her through a narrow alley in the night rain.
Raindrops fell from the umbrella like beads on a curtain, pattering endlessly on the ground, accompanied by the warm murmur beside her ear.
· Liu Bai's Zither ·
The last note of the clear melody faded. Liu Bai glanced to the side and saw Liang Ying already asleep against her shoulder.
Her slender fingers left the strings. She gently wiped away the tear tracks on Liang Ying's cheek, her eyes full of tenderness.
As she slept, Liang Ying wrapped both arms around Liu Bai's right arm, like a white rabbit nestled in an embrace.
Liu Bai smiled silently and returned her hands to the zither. The elegant melody began again.
A peaceful smile rested on Liang Ying's sleeping face.
"If I could, I'd want things to stay this way forever."
Hearing Liang Ying's dreamlike murmur, Liu Bai's voice softened like water. "Silly girl, don't you dare cry in front of anyone else."
· Shu Jiu's Lantern ·
The stars and moon gave no light. Every household's lamps were out, the streets were empty, and the darkness was impenetrable.
Dragging her battered body, Liang Ying was gasping for breath and barely able to walk. At last, her foot sank into a mud pit and she tripped.
A solitary light shone before her. A hand supported her waist from behind.
She looked over, and Shu Jiu's worried face was close to hers.
"The road ahead is dark. If you insist on walking alone, you'll not only end up covered in mud, you'll injure yourself and be bruised all over. Why put yourself through that?"
"I chose this road myself. I have no regrets."
She forced herself to stand and took two steps back, putting distance between them. Liang Ying cupped her hands in a respectful bow. "Thank you, young master."
Shu Jiu took Liang Ying's hand and placed the lantern he was carrying in her palm. "If that's so, then carry this lantern with you. As long as its flame doesn't go out, my heart will be with you."
[This Story: Blurb]
While helping Wei Que straighten his robes, his new wife told him that she had an important secret to share when he returned.
But Wei Que never made it home. Instead, he was caught up in the Third Prince's armed rebellion. Trapped in the palace as well, he protected the Emperor. Though he drove back the rebels and earned the greatest merit, his own home did not escape the bloodshed. When he returned, everything was already too late.
Only the secret door in their bedroom remained, its key still in the lock.
Rumors spread that his new wife had died along with the others, but her body was never found. Some said she had been abducted.
Yet Wei Que never explained himself. He neither held a funeral nor sent anyone to search for her.
Now ennobled and in the Emperor's favor, he was pursued by many people eager to arrange a match for him. Wei Que ignored them all.
Three days later, at dawn, a maid came to Wei Que's bedroom as usual with a basin full of water. But the family steward told her that Wei Que had gone to a banquet at the Duke of Ning's estate and had not returned all night.
Suddenly, the tightly shut bedroom door opened from within.
Shuang Ling, yawning, looked at the stunned onlookers and glanced at the basin in the maid's hands.
No one knew when Wei Que had returned.
Even more astonishing was that Shuang Ling was not dead.
Wei Que sat up in bed and looked at Shuang Ling as she walked toward him.
"I think I scared them. Was my entrance a little too sudden?"
"No, it was just right. Now they can be afraid. This is only the beginning of what they'll pay."
Seeing the murderous chill in his eyes, Shuang Ling shrugged and shivered. "How terrifying. Good thing I'm not your wife."
[Content Warning]
No body-double trope.
Theme: What I do is only a repetition of what everyone else once did.
Blindly guessing, the female protagonist is the original wife. She has shared it with the male protagonist before, but now she pretends that she is not, but it was exposed in some small details. In addition, could the time and place she told the Queen Mother about meeting not be made up, but when they first met (?)
He should also be able to travel between the two worlds!
Ah, this is very interesting. I have so few favorites. The heroine looks like she has lost her memory.
Hahahahahaha, even the bicycles came here
When will it be updated?
What is the story of Jiarong? When she is mentioned in the first few chapters, everyone will still look at the male protagonist's reaction. Isn't it possible that they had any relationship before...
